So recently I have been wanting to dye my hair an electric blue colour but I have no idea where to find the dye!
Obviously there's none in any shops so it'd have to be bought online.
My hair is also quite dark and the red dye i last used didn't work too well, so should I just go to the hairdressers and get them to bleach and dye it etc?
Also I've been wanting snake bites but my mum isn't allowing me because she says they will get infected and stuff. What are your opinions on this?
+rep for any helpful replies!
Thanks guys (:
I've had so many colours like red etc too and it's cost me over £100 to get from black to perfect bleach blonde since I became allergic to black dye :L I would only bleach it if you have to since bleach takes all the colour pigment from your hair and you won't be able to get back to your natural colour ever unless you re-dye it your natural colour or grow all the colour out, which doesn't look good because I tried to grow black out from my natural goldenny colour. My local sallys hair & beauty store sell blue hair dye and so do Blue Banana if you have a local store. Blue dye should take to quite dark hair and since it's only temporary dye in blue's/pinks etc I don't think it would be worth bleaching your hair since bleaching damages your hair quite a bit.
How old are you if you don't think I'm rude? I had my nose pierced when I was 14 years old but had to take it out due to school, but I made the promise to my mum that I would look after it myself by doing the sea salt soaks twice a day, that I'd help more around the house and wouldn't play with it which would get it infected. You could show your mum some internet sites about the piercing and infections. Infections only happen if you don't clean it or if your body rejects the piercing, so if you prove to your mum that you'll make sure you'll look after it and won't complain if it hurts when you have it pierced then hopefully she will reconsider? :)
wow how helpful am i, i've had snake bites and electric blue hair.
blue hair will only work if you bleach it, that's the be all and end all. no matter what dye you use, it won't take. you need either light blonde or ice blonde hair for it to set. otherwise yr gonna get a vile murky blue colour.
secondly, snakebites won't get infected but i'd be lying if i said they weren't a hassle at first. yr only quite young, so i'm not sure who you would give you snakebites anyway, think you have to be 16 or be able to LOOK 16 and you don't at the moment (sorry).

I think you'd have to bleach it before you dyed it blue cause it probably wouldn't turn out the blue you wanted it to. You can get decent hair dye brands with looaads of different colours on ebay ;D
And snakebites won't get infected as long as you look after them properly :)
you could use peroxide bleack to bleack it and manic panic so they best bright dyes

Tyvm for all the advice guys (: I've managed to find some dye but unfortunately my mum doesn't think I'm clever enough to do the washes so I can't get SnakeBites.
Btw Jade, I didn't want to look like anyone in mcr, I hardly even like them xD
+ there isn't anyone in mcr that has electric blue hair and snake bites, is there?
Tyvm for your advice jade, much appreciated xx

if you used red then you shouldn't touch your hair and get to a hair stylist - your hair will just fall out and then you'll have nothing to bleach.
When you bleach your hair you strip everything including the nutrients and mineral deposits out of it, ruin the structure and make it a holey structure instead of a smooth 'pole' like structure. it becomes fragile and looks like a sponge under a microscope.
for this reason, bleaching at home is extremely stupid and i've known girls to lose clumps of hair for a year or two because of scalp and hair trauma.
your hair will be EXTREMELY difficult to get blonde but you could do it blue because you're not going to need it blonde. Being a dark haired person you're likely to find it difficult to go above a coppery yellow, with the red in your hair (which you can never go back from) it's even harder!
The upkeep for it will be extremely expensive too.
blue pigments aren't a 'real' pigment for hair which means as quick as the pigment goes in your hair, it can never be permanent - it'll always need re-done every 10 days roughly.
you'll also need to invest in a good treatment to use about twice a week and use good quality colour intense shampoo and conditioner.
your hair will become harder to style too.
lighten your hair and use manic panic
dont get snakebites, you will regret it
