Okay, I have to answer the question
'' Why was progress towards racial equality so slow in the period 1945 – 1955? ''
So im splitting it up into
Political
Legal Factors
Racism
Ineffective nature of protest
Widespread nature of discrimination
Anyone got any good key points / examples for any of them? and any tips of writing it.
Its gotta be in for tomorrow.
left it a bit late mate, you could talk about the society of war during that time period and how people were focused on winning a war rather than challenging mindsets and stuff.

Okay, I have to answer the question
'' Why was progress towards racial equality so slow in the period 1945 – 1955? ''
So im splitting it up into
Political
Post-War, politics concerned with ending rationing and not ending segregation. Not seen as 'necessary'.
Legal Factors
Not sure on this one, maybe outdated legislation?
Racism
World War II banded blacks and whites together, yeah, but it would take a while to get all that written down. Maybe the anti-Semitism of the Axis powers perhaps appealed to Southern Americans? Strengthening their will and ideology?
Ineffective nature of protest
No leadership, media concerned with post-war society and getting out the 'happy' stories after war.
Widespread nature of discrimination
World War II led to a scattering of nationalities across the world.
Included my stuff in bold.
