1700 ft? no thanks!

Is there anyone that would seriously enjoy doing that?

There is no ammount of money I would do that for, it's ridiculous that they are allowed to free climb it!

That is absolutely crazy...
I started feeling quesy just watching that vid

And I definitely second this, I would NOT be doing that just for a normal job.. haha..

I haven't watched the video but just standing on a stool makes me uneasy. I feel the fact that it's 'free climb' makes me unsure because when I tiptoe I shake a lot and with me being only short I feel I'd have to tiptoe doing that lmao!

However, I don't mind heights but I wouldn't do it as there's always a risk, a 1,700ft risk :P!

I felt dizzy watching it. omg I would NEVER do that. Even with a safety harness. I can't believe they're allowed to free climb, how stupid.

I would like to climb that high, just not on one of those. And the video made me feel sick as well :(

I watched this the other day, oh dear. No way in my right mind would I even consider this because I have a phobia of heights anyway. Gosh it's madness.

Very good point, that'd be horrible, all that pressure on you...

I wonder how many people die a year from falling off that? Seriously, what are they supposed to do if it randomly starts raining heavily?

Haha yeah very true, I haven't watched the video since I last saw it so I'm not sure if it mentioned how long it took to get up and down, but if it doesn't I wonder how long. Must just be horrible to do. :(

I was wondering that, it's not like they are protected in some way. What if the weather is worse though, like a tornado or something?

I watched this quite a while ago.. it's a werid job but someone has to do it. I would never do it though haha, I wouldn't have the nerve to. :)

Yeah exactly, I'm sure we can all agree that this isn't a job without hazards, luckily I wouldn't even have the guts to do it. I think it's just the pressure of being responsible for your partner on top of everything, 'cos after all you're meant to be looking after your partner and therefore you're subject (perhaps?) to him or her.

I would definitely not do this as I am scared of heights (it's amazing what people do for money...) have to get over being scared of heights soon though as i'm going up mount etna in italy soon!!! :)

So, it's a climb up - that's okay. Then going down? I'm sure the life expectancy of people doing that job is pretty low.

I'd never do that, I shake enough when I go on a rock wall thing. Going down would be so much worse than up though

I'm not scared of heights, although I don't think this'd be my type of thing.

I'm not terrible when it comes to heights - but I still wouldn't like the risk that I can fall back and die xL

I'm scared of heights so that would be a definitive no-go for me. I reckon they should parachute off for a dismount!

David

reminds me of this - click (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G67DOJMEat8)

I think the bad part would be going back down, would be quite an experience though.
Always wanted to do parachuting, i would consider this with a professional partner but the freestyle is a no.

Edit; I wonder if they do timed runs

I'm not afraid of heights but hell no to trying that. It's ridiculously insane and stupid.
