Jacmob has now said RSB... will not be coming back. Jacmob has also taken a job with Jagex.
This is the end of bots, *removed* may work but its crap, i dont expect any other bots to work now in the future, If Jacmob cant do it then it wont be done.

This is also my last post on the forum, i've got bigger things going on, dont really have the time to come here anymore. cya.

Recent Developments - Moving On From Bots
Why have you put an end to *******’s bot client?

Bots have changed the gameplay of RuneScape. With the use of bots becoming increasingly widespread since the introduction of free trade, and the recent announcements by Jagex, it is clear that bots have become flagrantly detrimental to the game. If you’re like any of us and you enjoy playing RuneScape, you’ll have noticed that bots are anti-social and make the time you spend playing feel diminished in worth. At the same time, bots are abused heavily by gold farmers to ruin the game to a significant extent only for their profit. We hope to assist in the selfless movement by Jagex in fixing this problem and hope that you will join us in playing the game with real people.

To some this will seem like a quick change of heart. See my interview with removed

Is this the end of all botting in RuneScape?

Yes. I am confident that you will not see the return of major bot clients to RuneScape, and that the small number of simple 'auto-clickers' and 'screen-scrapers' that remain will be dealt with very soon.

Another bot site says they’ll be up soon; why shouldn’t we believe them?

The other bot sites out there may claim for a bit longer that they will fix their bots within the next few days or weeks: Had I decided to release ******* 1.5 to the public, it would have required another overhaul just a few days later. The fact that no other botting sites had any update ready by the end of last week shows how exceedingly far behind they are. Don’t hold your breath.

I know another huge MMO that hasn’t dealt with bots; what makes RuneScape different?

Removing bots from the game requires both commercial investment and the time of talented developers with other updates to work on. I haven’t seen any other company willing to take that hit; it requires a huge amount of care for the game we’re here for.

I used ******* on my account, am I going to be banned?

The information we have on customers and users is private and won’t be used to ban any accounts. We hope that you have come to understand why botting has no place in the game and take this opportunity to become part of the RuneScape community.

I purchased a premium script, am I entitled to a refund?

If you purchased a script within 7 days of the update last Tuesday we will happily refund your purchase removed Any purchases made before this time are not eligible for refunds. Information on subscription changes is available on our removed

This is the end for bots, not for you!

It’s not only you that doesn’t have a bot client to use. RuneScape is a social game for humans to play. If you feel that there was anything botting did to keep you interested in the game, please removed of what updates would remove any need for them.

well I think the idea of him going to work for jagex is that he will simply continue to do what he does best but under their observation so that they know how to stop it... or something. I'm sure what ever he does there he will be an asset to their team.

RS are basically updating every day, if not more so most bots won't work for more than a few hours. In theory.

Alas! They actually did something they say they would! Mad props to Jagex. I seriously doubted they would have even stopped 2%.

Jacmob took 1.5 (the bot client that would run after there 'bot update') to runefest and showed the mods, they cried, offered him a job with better pay, done.

After seeing this thread i decided to go to the bot site that i used once upon a time when i played RS. This site is one of (or the) biggest/most well known bot site from what i remember.

To avoid breaking any rules i wont name the site but simply post an edited version of their article, i'm sure most of you can find the site afterwards as a result if you want to.

The future of *******

There have been many new developments regarding our botting competitors over the past 24 hours that have left many of you on edge about the future of *********. This is understandable. At this time, I want to take the time to remind you of a few things:

-Our bot client has been around for 5+ years and has been the longest running bot software available for some time.

-Our bot client has always been the frontrunner in technological developments which are often copied by our competitors.

-Our competitors made several claims and ETAs about returning only to fail each time and turn their back on customers completely (now supposedly working with Jagex). Sounds like an ulterior motive to me.)

-Our competitors state that they are confident

"you will not see the return of major bot clients to RS". Keep in mind that this is the same competitor that for several months promised you such things as almighty "nano-walking" and several other advancements that have never seen the light of day. Talk is cheap. Why would someone who is now supposedly working with Jagex tell you otherwise?

-Our competitors are not on the same intellectual level as our bot client developers.

-Our competitors "piggy back" on previous developed projects. Our bot client is, and has always been, a product of our own work from the ground up

-

Our bot client developers have a vast knowledge of several technologies outside of the programmatic standards used in botting software today that can be utilized if/when needed.
Our bot client developers are motivated and able to devote 100% of their efforts to developing our software (not distracted by other work, school, etc).
-I hope you all understand that it has always been our #1 priority to get our bot client back up and running for you. We are working around the clock (literally) to get our systems back online. We have no plans to take the easy way out as our competitors seem to be doing.

We are *******. We are legion. Expect us

Interesting, seems to point the other way.

Of course they'll say that... It's their business.

Their court case is failing and RS updates like.. every 12 hours, so even if they fix it, they'll need to update ever 12 hours too.

No one knows what's going to happen, might as well just sit back and enjoy the poostorm

Don't you think because Jacmob is now working for Jagex he's bound to say that? Smart move on his part though.

Lets hope they chase down the details who have brought the bots next esp from those companies that won't stop developing!
