Does anyone else get so nervous writing these that even though you studied and know the material, your mind sort of goes blank on the test and you're really nervous, not hungry before it and so on?

I write a test in either one of a few subjects I'm enrolled in atleast once every one or two weeks but every time I am so nervous I make the silliest of mistakes.

Horrible feeling!

i get really nervous too but i think it helps me, i work so much better under pressure. i very nearly walked out my psychology exam and blew it because 2 people walked out after 20 minutes and the girl next to me was constantly putting her hand up for more paper. i make sure i eat a lot though and have water with me or else i can't concentrate. my mind doesn't really go blank, it goes in to complete overdrive! so i make plans and write down all the information in my head on the paper before i even start the questions

before I go in, i'm near ready to vomit. I can hear my heart beat in my ears and stuff lmao
if I go in and I see the question I want come up, I just go calm and write but If the question I haven't revised comes up or it not the form I wanted its like eek.

I'm fine with it really, I just get really bored nearer the end!

When I was doing my SATs and GCSE's I never got nervous, wrote as much as I could and tried my best.

However, I don't really get nervous for my A level exams I just get nervous about sitting in the wrong seat or something like that which did happen on my other exam, luckily the other table didn't have a paper on.

Anyway, I never like feel sick or anything and I usually cram on a morning as for some reason I work well like that (made me get an A in a minor geography test) but also made me get 10/14 in my ICT test etcs but of course I revise beforehand, too!

What worries me more is having too little time to write what I want, it always happens. My teachers say you only have 2 and a half hours to do 2 sections but then I write like 8 pages and I'm stuck for half hour doing nothing?

Also, what I do is tell myself I've done rubbish on a test and I actually come out doing well because when I think I've done well I never have.

For example I thought I was destined to get a U, my mocks went well when they were small tests but in the bigger tests I get a U. The first exam for Business I got a C in so I was absolutely shocked. Then the second test I thought I did ok and ended up getting a U.

Like my ICT I said I wouldn't tell myself I did well and got a C from that.

Ok I've waffled on. Tl;dr no I don't get nervous :P!

i never get nervous. i think a lot of people see it as cockiness or that i don't give a **** about the exam, but i genuinely believe there's no point getting nervous before a test. as long as you've done yr best then who gives a ****.

I agree in some aspects but in others, no I don't. I've always been nervous for exams slightly because obviously they do contribute and what not so the adrenaline is quite useful for motivation and gettin' your head in the right zone. On the other hand, too much anxiety is obviously going to effect you because at the centre of what you'll be thinking is "ahhh i'm going to fail this" which is never good! :P

my main principle on not being nervous is knowing that i've done my revision and listened in lessons whatever (not always but yaknow hahah), and there's realistically nothing i can do to alter the next hour/two hour period. so what is the point in being nervous? wasted energy i could be putting into writing my exam.

lololol, I'm terrible to be around during exam period. I make sure that I've done every past paper before the exam, and I tend to get one final essay marked just a few days before. I get nervous, yeah - I can't bring myself to eat anything on the day and I start to feel a bit sick. When we're waiting to enter the exam hall, the adrenaline kicks in and I just want to get in there and do it. Stress improves productivity to an extent, but once it goes too far then it starts to reduce it - it's like an "n" shape on a graph.

When I'm in the exam, I read the question several times and make notes. I write a plan for every question, before I elaborate further in the official answer. By the time I've done all this, I'm a lot more relaxed and all the ideas and content starts drifting back to me and (touch wood) it all goes to plan.

I'm quite like this in regular exams in class to a certain extent: I feel like I've let myself down if I don't get an A. If I don't get the grade I'm looking for, then I'll redo the question. I think this is largely because I went from quite an average school for my GCSEs, and now I'm at an extremely good one for Sixth Form. Everyone (and I honestly mean everyone) is there because they want to - they all achieve extremely high grades and I think the competitive side of me shines through. I put the work in, and hopefully it will pay off.

I get nervous before exams but I just sit by myself somewhere and slowly go over any important dates/formulas/facts in my head. As soon as the exam begins I'll quickly scribble down things I can't afford to forget and then I can relax and work through the paper in a calm manner. I don't like doing exams where there's not really a specific answer, I'm really calm when I'm doing a maths paper because there's no in between answer, it's either right or wrong.

I can't stand it when right before the exam someone comes up to me and starts reciting random facts in the hope that somehow they'll cram 30% of the stuff they should already know in 10 minutes. FML x10.

I get so nervous with exams tbh. I just work myself up and then they never seem so bad. My worst one ever was French when I had to describe a house (there was a picture of it) and the picture was awful so I was struggling to get many points. I did end up just making up a load of **** for it and coming out with a high mark, but I initially panicked as I thought it would be key to see it.

I'm usually fine in exams for things like Maths as they're not so hard for me to read so it's not so bad. :P I'm one of those people who, after doing the test, thinks for the worst (thinking I'm going to get **** grades) so if I get bad I expect it and any better is a bonus. Seems to work as I usually come out pleased as I do better then I expect I will.

With my English exams I always get worked up to the extent I make myself sick, but we do get given a 1/3 of a page for notes so we don't forget important stuff that need to be included in the essay. I am pretty nervous ATM as next week i have 5 exams, Maths English + 3 Science, the Maths and Science are more knowledge so i'm not too worried about them its mainly my English cause I really don't like English I don't know why I just never have!
