It is, but it is one huge mess about including paid apps and jailbreaking. So I'd advise against it.

Your best bet would probably be to snag a cheap Android handset off Kijiji and use that if you can't get it working on your BlackBerry.

Can you not create a network with your BB? I can on my HTC wildfire.

If you can't on BB, you stuffed really, I bet you can, But I bet it involves paying $$$
