New trailer for Hunger Games, based on atrilogy that I really enjoyed. I was worried the films might turn it into Twilight and just make it bout the romance but the trailer looks pretty good, I hope this is something else to go to the cinema for now that harry potter's finished :(

i wouldn't be surprised if the studio are pushing for it to be a new twilight/harry potter (money and impact-wise anyway). but naw, depending on the reviews i'll probably download it or something.

I read the first book on the insistence of my sister but I haven't read the others which follow it. I thought it was ok, nothing special if I'm being honest but a lot of people seem to enjoy the books so the movie will probably enjoy the same success.

It felt like they gave away quite a lot in that second trailer, especially with regards to Katniss volunteering to take her sister's place. It seems silly to put that in a trailer since in the first trailer consists purely of her partaking in the Hunger Games. Why spoil how she got there and ruin the surprise? In context, that scene is quite emotional but out of context it hold zero emotion whatsoever.

They have done a good job of capturing the feel of the dystopia from the books and the high class Capitol so it'll be nice to see everything from the books visualised.

I'm not sure how they'll manage to cram all the romance stuff into the film since the majority of it takes place in Katniss' mind. I'd expect a lot of clumsy expository dialogue.

Probably one I'd watch on TV or download but I don't think I'll be going to see it in the cinema.

I read the Hunger Games dystopia quiet some time ago. I've also read the Japanese novel it's allegedly based off of, Battle Royale. Regardless of Royale, I still have to say the first Hunger Games novel is one of the best novels, and is the best dystopia, I have ever read in my entire life. I didn't care for the last novel of the series, and the second was only decent, but the first was absolutely spectacular, and if I had to endur re-reading a novel I would enjoy re-reading the Hunger Games.

I just saw this specific trailer today and I'm thrilled. I liked the Eragon movie, but it strayed off the plot of the first Eragon novel quite considerably, and it didn't go over decently in the box office. I thoroughly hope the Hunger Games movie takes off without a hitch, because the plot of the novel is painted beautifully, and if replicated correctly on the big screen this will easily make the list of my favourite movies.

Each individual Harry Potter film made close to if not over one billion dollars at the box office. If you put all the Twilight films together they hardly made more than just one Harry Potter film. I have read the entire Twilight saga, and I have watched all the movies, but you cannot compare them to Harry Potter. At the end of the day, Harry Potter has more fans, and has made one heck of a lot more money :P

Hunger Games is on my list of books to read. I don't think I'll see the movie in cinemas but when I read the books I'll probably watch it on DVD.

They are showing it in the previews before Breaking Dawn, so I guess they are trying to push it at the 'Twilight audience' although I don't think it will make as much money as Harry Potter or Twilight.

[@]@ekelektra[/@] actually aiming to surpass Twilight in profits would be reasonable I think. I don't think the director of Hunger Games is very well known though so I don't know how it's going to play out.

I liked Gale until he totally ditched Katniss in book two or three, after that I was glad in the end when Peta got the girl!

Yeah never heard of the books but as I watched the trailer I instantly thought Battle Royale but a bit morefuturistic(although at its time of writing Battle Royale was set in the future). However It lookscompletelydifferent from the film version of Battle Royale, an amazing movie I must add. This one looks pretty good too though so may have to watch it.

I liked the books, and hopefully the movie can at least live up to some degree of greatness that the books had. It's not very often that a movie can be as good as the book.
