For a first try, it's pretty good. The hair looks a bit bad imo and I'd work on the t-shirt (make the heart a little better).

The heart on the skin doesn't look right, it doesn't actually look like it is on there, and the wrist band doesn't look like it actually goes around (you need to curve the lines). Also you should not have replaced all the lines in the hair black, it should be dark red (except the outlines). However, for a first this is pretty decent, and I like the fact it isn't just a basic recolour.

Oh also, nothing wrong with paint for graphics like this, just saying.

Awh I really like these, as many others have said about the heart, it doesnt look right on the skin though. However its pretty good for your first alt :O Maybe insted of recolouring try change the hair like making it shorter or longer, or do something like that or try recolouring like some furni off habbo? :D

You need to work on your shading on the boots, the black doesn't look right as it's on each side when there should be a side for a light source (amazing words of dbgtz). If the 'shading' on the boots are meant to be a pattern you need to make them look more like a pattern and not just shading. If they are shading then they should be a darker purple.

The wristband still doesn't look like it goes around the hand too. The top of the t-shirt thing needs to be more round as one side looks really sharp, I know it's like that on the original but still :P!
