On a professional blog I often read was an interesting article about a very handy service.

For those who don't know, often people will hack accounts and then dump the login details onto a site for others to see and abuse. This new service allows you to enter either a username or email address to see if it is on any of these dump lists.

All you need to do is simply enter in your username or email address. You'll then see quite an unusual type of CAPTCHA where you will be shown a basic shape e.g. a triangle, square etc and be asked to draw it with your mouse. Luckily it doesn't have to be perfect/neat, as long as it represents it.

It will then check the details to see if itis on any of the lists. If it isn't you also have an option to be alerted via email when any of the details goes into a list.

The site doesn't ask for your password and usesHTTPS so your data is encrypted.

If you want to see the actual blogs I read it on, just to prove it is safe, read the two bellow:

J (http://www.windowstalk.org/2011/11/how-to-check-if-your-account-is-hacked/)ust adding - the websites only problem really is when entering a username, it won't tell you the site its associated with. So if you have a popular username e.g. just your first name, it may state the username is compromised but it could be for a number of sites.
