View Full Version : DJ Shows
OKAY, i tune into habbox sometimes and some, and ONLY SOME have really bad song quality and there mic quality is hideous too. I think that you should make some dj's re-take a trial or something! It's not there fault tho they are really good dj's but they need to get better quality songs or a new usable mic

I'm sure the Senior DJs and Head Djs are all dealing with this issue. Don't worry. :)

In all fairness i have to agree. . some of the Djs need new mics asap. . . it really does put me off from tuning in
right i have you on ignore so i could only read the first half of yr post on the thread preview but, we do trial all our DJ's at habboxlive. sadly we cannot FORCE people to go get new microphones and i am forever hinting in feedback PM's that a decent mic is a key part of being a quality DJ. i'm sorry if you did not enjoy yr experience, and if you tune into another DJ perhaps they will be more to yr taste.
I never said you need to force people to get new microphones, you just need to explain to them that they can not dj with a rubbish microphone not hard

I've always been blunt and told people their mic isn't good and they need a new one if they want to go further as a DJ.
The fact is, this has always been a problem from time to time. Bad song quality means you know they're downloading it illegally and to make a song sound crap on a 96 kb/s radio is quite a big feat to achieve. I'd personally clamp down and start literary warning people for bad song quality, may sound harsh but it'll get DJs on their feat and actually try bother to get legal quality music.
Also, the fact is that if DJs with silly quality microphones get through in the first place shows that there is something not right in the hiring process.

i do pm for bad song quality and though i'm not tuned in 24/7 i do try and listen as much as i can and warn as often as possible.

Shouldn't only be you, there's more than one person for the job for a reason, so that different people from an array of timezones can monitor and deal with the issue. I used to get seriously annoyed when I had to right countless of PMs for bad quality, wrong titles, microphone quality etc. as it is simply a bit of common sense and actually initiative in making songs and shows to the standard needed.
Inseriousity.

It's not only bethie, I've had all the head/senior djs ccing me into the feedback they send and they have all been constructive and helpful PMs. It's a shame you had a bad experience although I think this is just part of the learning curve for DJs and they will get better over time so I don't think a redo of their trial is necessary. I'm sure radio management wouldn't pass anyone who didn't prove they had the potential to improve further. Often, DJs are actually aware of the problem and are doing all they can behind the scenes to sort it out as quickly as they can before the show ends or if that's not possible, before their next show.
I do need a new mic i won't lie...
but there's other things more important than a mic atm ;)
listeners? and the listeners tune in to hear a good dj with a good mic
haha just sayin ;)
p.s i think ur a good dj lamar x
