View Full Version : Am I too old?

Bit of a random one, I've just logged into Habbo for the first time in what must be about 5 years. I'm guessing the UK and USA hotels have merged now, but I used to play UK and at various times was called Frewbs and Tether but most of the time I used Wig, I even owned a casino at one point which at the time was one of the richest. Long story short, that account got banned and has since been deleted, can't remember what happened.

I'm now 20 years old, a second year university student (which is going amazingly), with a brilliant social life. But I wouldn't mind having something to do to pass the time when I'm stuck in the flat on my own bored. I quit WoW, after a few years of playing, a couple of months ago and don't fancy that again, and I have my Xbox but it just seems a bit samey. Is there a mature user group to be found anywhere on Habbo these days just to chat with and make friends? Or is it full of 13 - 16 year olds that are desperate for furni? Not that there's anything wrong with that... I've just been there and done it!

I'm currently using Jak, feel free to add me or something.

Habbo's changed so much, and not for the better. Its aimed at younger children now, with the smaller age demographic being more lucrative than if they target the older and more occasional player.

So I don't think you'd want to get back into Habbo, nor is there that many 'mature player groups'. I've packed it in personally for similar reasons.

I see nothing wrong with playing Habbo when you're a little bit older. Lots of people who started playing in 03-06 are still around and they're quite old now. I know what you mean though, Habbo doesn't exactly make you feel young especially when there are a lot of younger people that play it now. :)

I like this thread :)

I'm 19, but I know a lot of people in and around Habbox who are definitely older, and most of them are at Uni and things like that,

I think Habbo is a really nice tool to have in places like that, it just gives you the chance to meet and talk to people you're not really going to meet anywhere else. It's always nice to feel part of a community I guess too, and Habbox can do that I think...

Obviously there is the younger generation still, but there are a lot of rooms that cater to the older, like 18+ rooms and such, it's just looking in the right places, and sometimes you might even surprise yourself, the younger one's aren't always that bad... haha :P

Thanks Zeptis ;)

Thanks for the replies. I got the feeling that it seemed to be aimed at younger people now, not that I can complain, after all it's a business and as you said they are more lucrative. I guess I'll just hang around these forums a bit, there seems to be a decent community and that's always nice!

HabboxForum is the place to be :D

You can always get involved with all the Habbox events and go and visit the HxHD. We've got quite a varied community, and rather a lot of older members.

HxHD... that brings back memories. I'll give it a shot. I used to be a Hobba on Habbo USA when it first came out but it got revoked because I silenced everyone in a room for lols. Just randomly remembered that.

I don't have any furni left, as I said Wig got banned, along with all it's furni, about 5 years ago. I'm guessing it got deleted because there is now somebody else called Wig and the account wasn't made very long ago!

Hmmm I dunno. I don't think I'll bother really, probably more worthwhile things I could do, seeing as I have no friends on it anymore :P

I'm 21. Just came back after a 4 year absence. I'm part of a community of mainly 19-24 year olds.

Still fun.

I don't think you're too old. It's ok if you're just playing Habbo to pass your time and not 'addicted' to it. :D

I've been back and I have met other old people, just go to the 18+ rooms to find people if you feel like you're surrounded by younger ones.

I'm 18, I've tried playing, but it just seems as if the demographic now a days is more, "tween," than anything.

But I think I'm too young xD

Nah you're not too old, i just look at Habbo as a "Community Site" instead of just a game. I guess think of it as a Virtual Facebook. I worked in a Habbo Military and the Commander N Chief was 34, no joke.

Too old for Habbo but not old for life. :P
Habbo is now mainly for younger kids like 10 or 11.

Hehehe lols I played when I was eight but I was no umm younger. My older brothers were like gamers so I learnt not to be so desperate and ask for every single friggen thing but yeahs. So I was just wondering why on earth does habbo and other sites say you have to be 13 or over cause they do know that i may or not be like turning twelve and that i still play it........ <.< >.>

I know personally a small group of people over 16 that still play habbo. They are interested in working the markets, designing and chatting.

Your only too old for the game when you stop enjoying it. Don't let anybody ever influence you to stop doing something for the sole reason that "you're too old"

You're not too old at all! I know plenty of people, myself included who are that bit older and still going on there and these fan sites. I'm 18, so feel free to chat to me if you want some company with all the young ones about these days :p

Aslong as you enjoy it who cares.

In my opinion being old within Habbo is more of an elite-status :P
I just play Habbo to inspire others and build rooms. If I can't play with Lego anymore, then I'll use Habbo as my canvas, immediately presented with quite a big audience.
Without the older people Habbo would become a children game only, which would be embarrassing if you were associated with that image only! So you'd better stay!

Whole heartedly agree with the above.

Im an older habbo also and mainly come on habbo to build rooms/collect furni/show off my place. I hardly talk to people unless its in passing. Most of my habbo friends that have maturity have gone now so Ill stay longer if some of them are online.

I think as long as it doesnt take over your life/you spend real life money on it habbo is fine for any age. A while back I can remember meeting 40 something habbos who had got into it because of their children playing.

I like habbo for the social aspect, it doesn't stand at to me as anything else.

Just sit in the HxHD and post on here in another tab, that's what I do. Achievements are alright if you are into that stuff but personally I can't be arsed

i've cut down a lot and i'm fifteen - mostly because of the fact it's changed so much, they're aiming at a younger audience but in no way that should prevent anyone your age to play, there's a much older community too

Age is just a number. If you enjoy playing the game then you shouldn't stop playing! :)

At the whole Wig being deleted, It may not have actually been deleted. When the hotels merged, each hotel had names that matched up with another hotels names and they couldn't allow like 5 "Wig"s to be running around. So they took the least active accounts and slapped some symbols at the end of the names. I.E: "Wig#" or "Wig@" or something like that. Your account may still be existent.

21 here, and I'm a returning Habbo player from 2004-2005ish. I find myself almost in the exact same boat you are. Glad to see though that Habbox has a decent-sized community and forum. I think that helps reach out to the older crowds.

I have met someone rumoured to be 48. I am friends with a person who is 36, 28 and 22. Two of them have children. So I don't think you are too old.

The people who did not merge their accounts, their accounts were deleted. So even if there was a Wig# after the merge, its now deleted
