So christmas is coming up and I don't fancy getting an iPad yet as the iPad 2 hasn't 'wowed' me into wanting it. I already have an iPhone and don't want to be sucked into the Apple craze etc

Basically, christmas is coming up and I want a tablet. Can anyone recommend a good alternative to the ipad? I was looking at the Asus Transformer Tablet that can clip into a keyboard and becomes a computer.
+rep for good answer!

My Dad has just got his Asus Transformer and it's amazing. If your budget will stretch, however, I would recommend waiting for the follow up, the Asus Transformer Prime. Link: Here (http://eee.asus.com/en/eeepad/transformer-prime/features).

Thanks. :) For the US, Early December. For the UK, Early-Mid January.

ASUS Transformer Prime.

Dad got an ASUS Transformer before the Summer and it's really nice. Even nicer when they both get the ICS update.

There is also a Lenovo Quad-Core rumored to be released before Christmas, although there's no proof of this as of yet.

Could someone please put me out of my misery and tell me which one is better - the Asus Transformer or the Samsung Galaxy Tablet?
