Just attempted a layout. It's rubbish but everyones gotta start somewhere.

lacks any content add a banner and test writing/links gives people a better idea of what it would look like, "/
Also adding a title would help, also as a side note maybe makinb the table edges invible as they look kinda cheepish "/

humm id try alligning the link cells to the center align="center"
And the main contents cell verticaly to the top valign="top" .
as a suggestion

Ok, thanks mentor i'll take your advice so in the table cells i put valign=top

Adding some kind of maching background would be nice too also try experementing with colors maybe make some other pages with differnt color scheemes and link them to your origanal page that would be pretty usefull

I also now did another 15 minute layout same style, also i have figured out where i went wrong yesterday so tomorrow i'll hopefully overcome that.

i quite like the above ^^ I wouldn't do what you have done with the Navigation though, Other than that, not bad :)

1 suggestion would be use a background colour rather than a background image to save band width, seeing as its just one colour anyway

Yes, this is what i realised was part of my problem, and i didn't have images at top of tables so it seems this border is thicker round the sides.
