Is it possible to jailbreak my iPod Touch 4 without redsnOw because apparantly everytime you boot the ipod up you have to use it :S

No. Redsn0w is the jailbreak tool.
iOS 5 currently has to use redsn0w whenever you turn it on, they haven't released an update to stop this yet.

So basically every time I turn my ipod on I have to drag the file into redsn0w and boot up?

I'm sure they're working on an untethered jailbreak but until they've done so you'll have to wait. :P

Of course you can jailbreak the iPad 2, if you have updated to iOS5, then not at the moment no, but 4.3.3 etc you can.

There's no "of course" about it, they change chipsets with most versions, making it more difficult.

I have stuck with Android for around 2 years now, had the odd iPhone 3 and 3g and 2gs here and there.
