RAM Netbook upgrade help :)

Ive bought a netbook (HP 110-3612sa) and i bought a 2gb RAM chip to go with it, Ive put the chip in and now when i turn it on the screen will just stay black? Ive taken it out and put the old one back in which works fine, soa little help is needed... thank you :)

Have you made sure it's in correctly? Did you double check to make sure you bought the correct chip for your machine?
