For the prize of 1 month of christmas VIP I would like you to tell us a story of the coolest computer hack/exploit you've heard of.
I'll give an example of one I've heard.
RAM back in the old days used to involve very large capacitors so they dissipated energy slowly, this meant that for a few seconds after loss of power they still have data written to them. A bunch of engineers recently built a rig that cooled newer RAM with liquid nitrogen meaning that it lost the data slower and they managed to slow it down enough that they could transfer the RAM into some compatible slots connected to another computer and then read the RAM on a different setup as if it had never lost power.
