Hiya, I've tried reddit before you say anything! But they're mostly American and aren't sure of UK sites. I've found this laptop;
I'm fairly sure it can play Skyrim and battlefield 3, but any ideas of any better laptops for that price?

The one I just got:

http://www.novatech.co.uk/laptop/range/nspire2430-blackedition.html

C (http://www.novatech.co.uk/laptop/range/nspire2430-blackedition.html)annot go wrong, this laptop is sheer smooth in everything, I advised to gethttp://www.maplin.co.uk/notebook-cooling-stand-xstream-444574with it, best cheap buy i've ever had, especially whenWilkinsonshas a piece of plastic that they call a cooling pad for 15 pound with no fans.

Runs skyrim in high high high & then ultra (amazing quality pretty much shocked my brother at what it could run), watch transformers dark side of the moon on it via a HD download, and it was mind blowingly good quality, speakers are amazing and the feel of it is hellish, get 8gb ram in it and its still cheaper than that (take the windows 7 on purchase option off to save 100 quid if you can install it yourself)

Webcam is amazing quality and the keyboard is a perfect size, plenty of usb ports & its own graphics card.

Also 8 hours battery life in eco mode, around 3-4 hours in high performance.

With my budget I would be unable to get the i7 processor and i'm not really sure if the i5 is gonna be enough.

I've also found this http://www.saveonlaptops.co.uk/Lenovo_IdeaPad_Z570_1147644.html which seems really really good. Opinions on that?

Seems like a lot of people hate acer so unsure now about that.

With HP you want either:
http://h40059.www4.hp.com/uk/homelaptops/product.php?id=QG799EA&experience=direct
or
http://h40059.www4.hp.com/uk/homelaptops/product.php?id=LS335EA&experience=direct

With Dell you want either:
http://configure.euro.dell.com/dellstore/config.aspx?oc=n00x5m01&c=uk&l=en&s=dhs&cs=ukdhs1&model_id=xps-l502x-proc-mod
or
http://configure.euro.dell.com/dellstore/config.aspx?oc=n00q1544&c=uk&l=en&s=dhs&cs=ukdhs1&model_id=inspiron-15r-n5110

(You'll want to spec the dell ones up a little probably)

You don't need a laptop cooler unless it's crap build quality. I personally have a laptop platform thingy so it doesn't roast my balls / overheat when I've got it on my bed but an extra fan it just going to add noise, not performance.

http://www.dell.co.uk/outlet - Dells in refurbished, nearly new cond. at good prices.

Look at XPS 15 or 17 in the performance laptops section.

I agree with the outlet. My dad has purchased two laptops from there and both came brand new in sealed packaging. The majority of stock in the outlet are just cancelled orders.
