New Design.

Just thought I'd get your views on this design so far. I'm really pleased with out, its coming out really well at the moment. All of the boxes are going to have designs in them ;)


Also, what should I put at the bottom? I really don't know what to write and how to lay it out, ie columns etc. any help would be appreciated.

This looks like it is coming on very well! What is the whole Website for? Portfolio?
And give a more Discriptive Bio about yourself, For example put things you enjoy doing when your not Designing,
What Music your into. What Programs you use to design and just Interesting things people find "interesting".
At the bottom you could add maybe some Skype Logo's with Picture Links or on the basis of that with contacts if
for say someone with questions would like to speak to you,

Thanks for your advice, yes this is for a portfolio. However this is just the home page, I want the main feature to be the images and the bio about me to be on the contact page, which I will have a slightly different design for, making the main feature the text, with the images put to one side. I also plan to have a footer with the Facebook, Skype and MSN logos in, and when you hover over MSN/Skype a small box pops up with my skype/msn name, and when you click the Facebook logo, your taken to my page.

Okay! Sounding Good, Is the Work your going to be uploading to the Portfolio worked on by Photoshop?? Illustrator?? Because i know it sounds pretty Overrated but if you have a Youtube, Record your work, Speed it up and Upload it, It helps other users and gets you more known yourself. It will also add something extra to your Website so i recommend it! If you are already doing this then make sure you get links to your Website on your Videos, and make sure you have Final Images linked to the Webpage,

What do you mean by record your work? Like record myself as I do the designing? Also, I work on Photoshop :)

Like, use a program called Camtasia 7 which you can record your Screen. You can get it easily for free, but i can't do that as it is Leeching so you will have to look yourself but if you record with it, You can speed the file up alot quicker, so you can Upload Videos on youtube of you designing but sped up very fast. For Example let's say you worked onsomethingfor 3 hours, and sped it up toaround2-3mins. They are very Popular at the moment and gets your work more Popular!!

Added some images to the boxes, not sure about them tbh. Also added the navigation and changed the font of the small about me area. Opinions.?

Also, bFen. That wouldn't work for me as I don't design it straight, I design on and off, so id be recording em browsing HxF etc.

If you create a design purely for the purpose of the video, once its completely finished and your happy with it, start it over again knowing exactly what you have to do and record as you do that. That's if you want to bother at all, I remember ages ago I created one on how to code a design.

As for the design, I'd say its a bit bland, nothing really to focus on and its lacking colour apart from the images themselves, that's not exactly a bad thing but with the background being so busy it doesn't really work when designing for a simplistic look. Also the text at the bottom is a bit generic you'll need to find a good font to use instead of what you currently have because so many design are using these "info-lines" or what ever there called lately it means you don't really stand out form the crowd any more unless your using an extremely attractive and unique font.

Second bit was slightly rushed so sorry if it doesn't make too much sense, but don't take any of it harshly, its a very n ice design but as one design to another I'd rather people point out things that can be improved rather than telling me OMG ITS WELL NICE GOOD WORK.
