Our sinks are like that yes, much better than the continental ones just as our plug sockets are superior.

I've done the bottle thing but with toilet rolls :P not to copy that or anything, just messing around (as you do..)!

It never even occured to me that our taps were different but now you mention it... I've never seen two taps around a sink over in the US! :P

LOL @ the bottle thing though, hahahaha.

Inseriousity.

I much prefer the two taps sink anyway. whenever ive useda 1-tap, ittakes so long to warm up or cool down depending what ya want.

In the bathroom the sink is one of them mixed one tap things but in the kitchen, there is two taps. So we have a both types in the house then! Hasn't really bothered me but our plugs are better ;)

You get both sets of taps and I've never known anyone concerned about their being two.

Fantastic moderation I must say, love how the GM didn't even spot the photo which clearly uses the F word ;)

Thats probably because it's not a AGM's job to moderate.

I have two taps in my dad and mums bathroom and then it's mixed in the kitchen. Though I'm really not too fussed on what I do have :P

no, but when a pretty evident massive swear word in something i'm sure they've been known to remove it pre-mod before.

In our kitcen we have a mixer tap. In our bathroom where I wash my hair our sink has 2 seperate taps but kinda relating to the bottle thing I have a shower heard that fixes on to the taps when I wash my hair and it mixes the water together.

I have eight taps per sink and all of them deposit precious metals.

Seriously though since when was this a Britain vs Rest Of World thing? I'm pretty sure it's only more common in Britain to have separate taps because we have a lot of old houses with old style plumbing whereas the US have houses that are more temporary than -rep on Oli's profile

In my sink we have 2 tap heads but 1 tap.

Everywhere else in the house has 2 taps.

We have a shower head you can put on your taps to get the right temperature.

I never realised it was only us with two taps :P. I've got two taps everywhere except in the bath as we recently changed the taps there, but it's not a major problem although I can see why two could be a better option in some cases.

Unless it's urgent, they're more likely to report it for the moderation team to deal with :P.

How old are your homes, out of interest? The two taps design doesn't exist in modern day buildings :S You do not even get them in DIY stores, kitchen design exhibits etc. I only know of them in old houses that haven't been renovated. One tap designs are the future :D

Coming from Hong Kong where all our taps were always mixers, to a two tap system annoyed and frustrated me so much. You wouldn't believe the amount of times I swore at the bloody two tap system, which annoyed me to think which genius thought of it in the first place.

Maybe because I've always had the privilege of the mixer taps that I was annoyed. Also, yeh it's old houses I guess, the house I live in within the UK is quite old, without any major renovations for a while, so I guess that's why they were still in place.

You guys use two taps? Really? I assumed everyone used one. I would say I prefer one, naturally, because you can adjust how hot or how cold the water is. How do you wash your hands with two taps, if one is very hot and the other very cold!

[@]@-:Undertaker:-[/@] [@]@xxmattgxx[/@] Oh shush both of you, neither electrical plug is better than the other :P

sort of flop your hands between them like a dying fish

Mathew

Lolol it's never really occured that you can get luke-warm water everywhere, but at home you.... can't. I suppose the hot tap takes a while to get REALLY HOT so you get it going gradually warmer.

What! I would be afraid of burning myself, how silly in my opinion. Surly you have one shower head that you can adjust, though!

yeah ofc
but I'm guessing sinks with two taps were all installed long before having a shower in the house was the norm, people were still using kettles and metal bath tubs 100 years ago

Oh, so you're saying in moden houses in the UK they would install the one tap heads on sinks in lieu of two?

Inseriousity.

Yep. Old houses usually always have them. In newer homes the standard is one tap, but you can get a two-tap sink if you ask for one, for 'old times' sake :P

That would be pretty daft :P There's never been two shower heads. There were two taps because you used to fill up the sink and wash your hands in that, so the cold and hot water used to mix together in the sink rather than in the tap.

FlyingJesus

4real how daft can you be to consider the possibility of 2-head showers having ever existed in homes that would just be a recipe for hypothermia
