Why would you get compensation for being stupid enough to let someone without a licence tattoo you?

Because he told me he was a professional and had a licence...

I don't know if you can get compensation, unless the tattoo went horribly wrong. But they will definately get in somesort of troublefor tattooing without a liscence, I assume a fine. Then again, if they're doing itfree ofcharge, then it wouldnt be against the law if they had your consent.

It wasn't free, it is badly done and he had no licence...

If money's changed hands then it's illegal, but dunno how you'd be able to prove it when obviously he won't be giving receipts if he's not a real business

Well if you're serious about getting compensation then go ahead and talk to a professional, theyll let you know your options. Seeing as it was done illegally I'm sure something will be done

Have you asked the guy for a refund at all? Because if you do that and he refuses THEN you can take him to court for illegally running a tattoo business without licence - a business licence and a health licence that is, in the UK there's no such thing as a tattoo licence

Not at all, as long as he doesn't charge then it's 100% legal
