another generalisation.. roll up roll up

After her remarks yesterday on Twitter (“white people love playing ‘divide and rule’”) she's come out again to imply that whites are 'out to get' black people with this corker: "Dubious of black people claiming they’ve never experienced racism. Ever tried hailing a taxi I always wonder?"

i was always a fan of her during the labour leadership campaign, and she always came across to me as being quite an intelligent, down to earth woman. but these comments are just bizarre. i know they're supposedly tongue in cheek, but you have to think why she thinks it's appropriate to make these remarks?

Maybe she's experienced hatred towards her because she's, in my eyes, someone who is quite racist herself and has quite a horrible view on things, thus people do not like her.

I have noticed how the BBC and the media in general are hushing up these remarks, but can one imagine if lets just say for example that Frank Field MP or Douglas Carswell MP said something like this [whether on purpose or simply a stupid remark] what the reaction would be by the media? I hate to generalise in terms of race but the fact is, if this were a caucasian MP their career would be in tatters.

As usual, those who preach about racism and who harp on about it are usually the racist ones themselves who make such a big deal out of skin colour. But going back to Diane Abbott herself, I don't dislike her simply because of the numerous skin-related remarks she constantly makes, no, I dislike her for a number of reasons such as being a typical hypocrite by opposing grammar schools and supporting comprehensives, yet sends her own children to a grammar school. She's as ugly on the inside as the party she represents.

I honestly have no idea where you got that impression from.

It angers me how much she waffles on about racism, yet supports ethnic minority short-lists which in itself is racist as it's segregating people.

Oh no see, in Dianes' world and the world of the Lib/Lab/Con racism is acceptable when you re-name it something like 'positive discrimination'.

I don't get the point. The way she is blasted for saying what she did is just proving she's right, but at the same time she's digging her own hole. She's entitled to the freedom of expression, but what she is expressing is only landing her in deeper problems. It's a nasty, vicious circle created by herself.

It's all self-induced.

Stupid and crass.
Do like Nick Clegg slagging her off for her Twitter comments. After he said Bob Holness was in Blackbusters.

I believe you mean Ed Miliband? :P Nick Clegg may not say anything on this story, purely because it's all hot air and not worth the energy to maintain attention for.

It's a shame when people act like total morons and claim to be doing so for the sake of equality, it makes true egalitarians look bad and pushes back the cause while it all gets sorted out. Utterly ridiculous comments, combating racism with racism is never going to get a good reaction and you'd think someone in her position ought to know better
