US singer Beyonce has reportedly given birth to a baby girl named Ivy Blue Carter at a hospital in New York.
The 30-year-old star is believed to have checked in at the Lenox Hill hospital on Friday night under the alias Ingrid Jackson.
Beyonce gave birth in a private wing and had rented out of the whole of the fourth floor for $1.3m (£840,000), according to the New York Daily News.
E! News claimed that it had been a scheduled caesarean section, and mother and baby were both "doing fine", reported the Houston Chronicle.
On Saturday night, people were seen bringing bags of takeaways and a dozen bottles of red wine onto the heavily guarded hospital wing in the Upper East Side, said the NY website.
After 11pm, even doctors and nurses were barred from entering the fourth floor, prompting one medic to complain that he had patients to see, it was claimed.
In an effort to keep photographs from being leaked, hospital workers placed tape over security cameras and forced employees to hand in their mobiles when they arrive for their shifts, a source told the website.
Several security guards were spotted patrolling the perimeter of the hospital on Saturday night, it was reported.
And a worker at Lenox Hill confirmed that a patient named Ingrid Jackson was in a "labour room", said the website.
Beyonce's husband, rapper Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, is thought to have told friends they have named their baby Ivy Blue Carter.
Friend and music mogul Russell Simmons was among the first to celebrate the arrival, tweeting the new parents: "congrats to my good friends Beyonce and Jay-Z".
And singer Rihanna tweeted: "Welcome to the world princess Carter! Love Aunty Rih."
Beyonce and Jay-Z, 42, got married in April 2008 after dating for around six years.
In November, he told E! News: "Your child could come to you and have any type of conversation. I always hope for that kind of open relationship."
Former Destiny's Child bandmate Kelly Rowland appeared to let slip the baby's sex in an interview in the same month.
Rowland said: "I have no idea what I'm going to buy Beyonce at the baby shower because Jay is going to buy that little girl every single thing possible.
"She won't be spoiled but she will be very well looked-after."http://news.sky.com/home/showbiz-news/article/16144634
