What happened to this?
I remember first 5 posts used to be moderated (think it was 5) and a moderator had to view and approve this
Lately i've seen alot of spambots by the looks of it, just posting general rubbish and broken images, so has the 5 post been changed/removed?

I thought it got removed ages ago but then re-introduced when that thing came along that was hacking many many people by giving out links or something. Then when Habbo patched it it was stopped. And there are usually only 1 or 2 spambots per morning anyway which isn't a huge amount.

And sometimes it can be 7 or 8! :P There have been about 80 in the last month and that is not including the one who made 52 consecutive accounts in a day! It was a real pain when we had no 'post view' from the profile but luckily we have that back now so the posts can be traced easily and moved swiftly. The real problem is one that posts hotlinks to advertising with many posts usually early morning. Whilst they are all from the same location they always have a different IP so an IP ban would be useless. How post approval would help this situation I am don't know as they consistently post about 7/8 times and the posts would still have to be moved out.

I've also noticed a significant increase in the amount of spambots. I get an email every time someone replies to a thread I post in and I've started getting quite a few emails with dodgy links from these bots.

With post approval you could set so only smod+ can approve the posts, so the only people seeing the spam would be the smods or anyone in a higher position, so users aren't being given dodgy links/images to view until a mod/smod is online to remove it.

Well a short time may get rid of the rampant ones. The only problem is the new genuine users having to wait too and we do have quite a few who join and post in non GMT times.

Surely thats a flaw in the Super Mod team then? Maybe time to add a new super mod to the team who could deal with issues like this when the UK members are asleep :P
Inseriousity.

It was removed cos it was a hassle for those genuinenew members who weren't really aware of why their posts weren't showing upand why they needed to wait in the first place. I wouldn't really be a fan of its return tbh. Ithink the moderators are more than capable of dealing with the spambots :)

Well we used to have one from New Zealand but that was years ago but this is obviously up to management. :)

Spam bots aren't that much of a problem and are generally removed fairly quickly. As mentioned though, the only downside is the spambots that post during the night when no one is able to deal with them.

Aha, this is Mr. Italic I would imagine :P.
As for spam bots, just add an extra step of a security code when you sign up to prove that you're human. Not sure if this is actually existent atm, as I signed up so long ago!

Is that why i've been seeing random people with like 3-5 broken images in some threads because they are spambots?

At the moment there are about 3 questions I reckon. All about habbox, like "what colour is a HC sofa" or "what colour is the sky"

Colour of HC is a bit unfair nowadays in my opinion, there's so much furni it's possible that a new person wouldn't have seen one before.
