I didnt see a thread so i might as well make one. Anyone got any university offers yet?
So far i've got Nottingham (ABB), Reading (BBB/ABC) and Newcastle (they haven't said what grades yet, probably ABB or AAB).
Oh my god Niamh if you go Nottingham you can join the rest of the HxF crew I'm not even kidding that place has more forum members than I've had girlfriends off this forum.
ON TOPIC I'm at uni though at this rate I'm gonna fail so hey ho I'll be here next year

i'm sending my ucas off tomorrow wooo. how exciting to be back in the ucas loop. cept i already have my grades.

lancaster, huddersfield, leiecster unsuccessful.
dropped out of staffordshire in october.
not too sure what to do.

I'd received all five offers by early December, woo! Applied to study English Language at...
Lancaster (AAB)
Leeds (AAB)
Newcastle (AAB)

I originally applied for regular English Language at Lancaster but I've changed it to the Study Abroad option now. Hopefully I can spend my second year out in North Carolina if I end up going there. Lancaster is looking like my favourite right now! :)

but if not I'm pretty happy at any of them, but probably not lancaster. Wish I put cardiff instead :(
I sort of love the Royal Holloway course but when I went there I really disliked the atmosphere and the place and the fact it's so close to home but also in the middle ofabsolutely******* nowhere

What did you end up doing for a reference?
I'm hoping I'll get an offer from my local Uni (already got my A Level grades that surpass entry requirements, + already at Lboro, so that'll look good) so I can drop out of this year ASAP to be honest.
Ideally if I send my application tomorrow/next day, it'd be nice to get an offer in the next couple of weeks :/
have you checked the other unis and compared it to Newcastle?Yeah and i like Nottingham and reading as well, but reading is a bit low for me (imo), but then i'm not too bothered about having it as my insurance choice. But just the modules and such in Newcastle really make it awesome for me, especially the fact that all Computer Science courses are the same for the first 2 years, and I can switch from any of them after those 2 years, so if my spefic interests change then i can do what I enjoy.
Of course in the long term it doesn't really matter because as long as I get an academic degree then i'm fine. Since it's generally jsut experience from there which i think i'll be okay in

my old college tutor has said he's going to send the reference he sent in 2010 and i've emailled him, nothing as yet though ;/ but he did tell me he'd do it asap so i'm hoping to be able to send it off tomorrow/friday at the LATEST.

i have no idea about uni's... i didn't have to apply for anything because i'm doing a 2+2 which means 2 years college, 2 years uni so i'm already in the system.
um as i've already got AAAA in the first year, the requirements vary but assuming i pass all 4 subjects i will have at a very minimum of CCCC. for next september i've got 2 offers from aberdeen uni, i didn't apply anywhere else cause they don't do 2+2 and i'd have to start at first year which would be a waste and i don't wanna go far anyway...
my offers:
3rd year social sciences: BBCC
or 2nd year joint honours: ABCC
i wanna do joint honours in anthropology and psychology but i'm not sure, i've never really seen myself being at university, i feel like i HAVE to go cause the subjects are what i want to do. i'm pretty positive i can get the final grades but i dunno if uni is right for me. it's only 2 or 3 years left but meh.. i really dunno.

Yup Comp Sci with me too. They'll probs want the same grades as Newcastle, so **** them i'm going Newcastle. But i might just go to the interview for the luls and the experience. Also to say i did :p

Oh yeah I know, I just mean that a lot of unis are waiting until after the deadline to look at the applications.

Yeah i've got me a decision to make. It's either a course that is pretty much perfect for me, a cheap area but really far away. Or a course that is pretty good, and is only an hour away but expensive. Both apparently have amazing night life.

take it from an ex kent fresher: it's amazing. the way the student village (parkwood) is arranged makes it really easy to make new friends and get to know loads of people at once. there's a pub, 6 bars and a club on site and then there's all the shopping normal facilities youd need in the city centre 10 min bus ride away.
it's fantastic but it is expensive. I got into alot of debt down there because the night life and the student life is so fantastic its hard to say no.

hm well apparently all the stuff in Newcastle is within walking distance, and i've been getting a conflicting opinion from someone who did their whole degree there that is just really isn't that great D: I think i'll just stick with Newcastle but go to Kent for practice with the interview.

I'm sure you'll get them soon, a lot of universities are waiting for the deadline to send out applications. Where'd you apply to? Plus, no answer isn't a rejection, there's always hope :P

Got an offer from Anglia Ruskin for Network Infrastructure & Security, not where I want to go, but it's such a relief having a backup to this year if I mess up.

They're A Level grades, A* and A being the highest through to the lowest, which is E or G depending on the exam board.

place called newman university, it's a teacher training college but they do some normal courses. it's like my backup choice because it's on the end of my road (literally if i had a class at 9:00, i could leave here at 8:58) but i'm glad it's unconditional so if i don't get what i want, it's there.

just walked into a letter for the birmingham metropolitan academy of the performing arts, got an audition/interview next thursday and i gotta learn 2 3 minute monologues by then oh godddddddddd.

And then to apply for student finance you need a firm? I'm not sure.

i got an audition for wolverhampton uni on the 28th of next month, but i don't think i'm going to go because it's just so far to commute to (and it looks a bit crap), my next audition is the 26th of march at birmingham school of acting, i really like the bmapa which i have the unconditional for, but i think bsa will be my insurance so going for that too.
gotta write an essay for it, ew.

4/5 of mine have replied now and given me auditions or offers, the last one i haven't even had any acknowledgement of application.
i mean, i think all uni's should do that really, even if it's just an auto-email.

They're all for Physics with Astrophysics or a similar course. Think I'm going to firm Leeds and decline all of the others
