Longest your internet has been down

What is the longest time your internet has been down because your ISP did something wrong. Not because you had to move houses or switch ISPs or something, but because your ISP couldn't fix something fast enough, etc.

Thus far with my ISP Bell, my internet has been down for over 24 hours now so I've been tethering.

35 minutes. Switching me over to 21CN. - Orange - Never go to them ever, I'm moving in march when my contract ends (they somehow put me into one)

Like over a week with virgin media and then it came back and then broke for like another week. Basically all students use them around here and everyone was having problems.

Talktalk has gone down randomly for 24-48 hrs too.
so annoying :(

~3 days. Problem with Virgin Media overloading the area AFAIK and then denying all fault over the phone and telling me it was a problem with my setup :S.

3months in 2010 with AOL.
We use BT for other things and apparantly BT canceled our aol thingy when they shouldn't of and they all had a big fall out

My mum raged down the phone and screamed at the simple people :3

2 weeks with Virgin Media as they kept wrongly diagnosing the problem wrong and saying it was due to engineering work in the area when it was my fault for various reasons :P

It was a very difficult 2 weeks especially as tethering was so unreliable at the time, thankfully I'm not as dependent on the internet these days and with smartphones with 3G capabilities I doubt it'd be such a problem if it were to happen again.

Longest my internet has been down was about 5 days lol. :( Was a pain as I had many projects to be done and information from the internet was needed. :| My dad did manage to bring something back pretty soon to get internet whilst we waited for the problem to be solved. :P

Just about 24 hours last month. It went down on the Tuesday and Virgin said it would be down until Friday when they could get an engineer out to fix the problem. It was back with us the following morning though! :)

Once it was faulty but when you refreshed it was ok. But it hasn't been down for a long length of time that I can remember.

Seems whenever I was pulling all nighters even though I was on fibre optic from like 6AM till like 7 I think Virgin would do maintenance and I'd have limited connectivity and they would force me to sleep

A couple of days. Orange had something wrong with their service on a national scale, I'm not entirely sure what was the cause in the end though. Usually the first hour or so of no internet is spent pacing the room like a frantic father waiting for a child to be born, then afterwards I find a book or something else to do.

Like 5 years ago, I didn't have Internet for about 3 weeks.

I had several weeks in a row with BT where I would only get my internet back for a very short amount of time. This was many years ago however.

Well, not that many times purely due to my ISP. Once it was down for a good few days due to some connections being broken somewhere between s an our ISP :L

About three weeks due to stupid BT and their problems with the exchange - it's still not up to proper speed and this was about four months ago!

I think when we first where on broadband we had a few issues with Tiscali. O2 at times has been down at least once I think for a day but its rare - it was down a few hours the other day but I usually have no issues.

Three to four days due to a fault of their own, they started being really rude to me by saying it was my fault. I got a few months free of broadband and a letter of apologie. If I have my own house I'm never going with Virgin Media, there customer service is awful..
