I've got a small bump at the back of my mouth and I have a gut feeling it's a wisdom tooth. Anyone had them? Had them out? Does it hurt? What should I do?! :(

I've got one and another one coming through. Unless it causes you any problems then you shouldn't have to worry about having it out. :)

I have a bump at the back too (Dentist says they are wisdom teeth, even though I'm appaz too young for them) But it hasn't caused me any problems at the moment.

I got them and I thought the back of my gums were falling off because to kind of came unattached.
but it's fine. They take ages to come through.

I had them, but they were all removed just two months ago before they really came through my gums. That was an interesting day lol

I have deepest sympathy for you if they are your wisdom teeth! I had all 4 of mine removed in 2010, I was put to sleep and had 5 stitches in each gum where they were. I was in such a mess with them, the pain was unreal. However everyone is different! My mouth does feel rather empty now where they used to be. And i got to eat ice cream for 3 weeks while they healed lmao

so jealous. mine gave me pain for 2 years, then when i turned 18 i was finally put into hospital to have them out. i'd wake up with a mouth full of blood sometimes! so gross.

Oh well thanks for scaring me, Emma! :P

It's come through now and I can finally tell that it's a tooth and not just a random bump! It's weird having an extra tooth-textured-thing at the back of your mouth... it's only small and still in the gum omg.

I have a weird story actually. I was in so much pain at christmas and my dentist said my adult 2nd molar was infected from a procedure gone wrong at my old dentist, I had to go for an xray at a hospital that went round my face ah and the guy wanted me to take my piercings out but then let me get away with them haha, but my dentist said if i had a wisdom tooth underneath he'd remove the tooth or if I didn't he'd do a root canal. Turned out my wisdom tooth was pushing up against the infected tooth trying to break through. I'm only 15 so my dentist said I'm young for them, but ever since I had that tooth out the wisdom tooth isn't coming through now grr. My uncle was in alot of pain though and got dry socket after having a wisdom tooth out so I'm so scared I'll have to have wisdom teeth out. I was kinda hoping they'd tell me if it showed on the x ray that I had anymore :(

Ah man I get them all the time, they normally just pass though. If i poke it or just keep think about it it will just make things worse!

Yeah not everyone gets them. And my dentist told me people can start to get them and then they go "back" again, mine started coming through when i was 14. i'm now almost 21 lol. it took my crappy dentist 4 years (i was 18 when i had all 4 out) to have me sent to hospital and by this point, they were in such a state i needed so much work doing on my gums to sort things out. but i'm okay now, just got no wisdom left, ahaha

I have one out, and one with the bump, as long as they don't bother you, you wont have to get them removed.

OKAYYYY JUST AN UPDATE..... I went to my dentist today and he's taken a look. He says it looks fine for now as there's plenty of room for it to grow, but obviously he can't tell which way it's going to go yet. Just need to try and keep cleaning it as best I can and just let it grow! :P

Thanks for your help guys! :) xo

They hurt when growing in a little bit but it hurts worse having them taken out. I only had one out because it was an emergancy situation.
