"2 billion strong" - Rihanna reaches 2 billion views (in total) on YouTube

Just went onto YouTube and saw a message on the VeVo background thingy, it says;

"2 billion strong

Congrats to Rihanna! She's the first female artist to clock over 2 billion music video views on Vevo!"

I'm pretty shocked about this - I knew she was popular, but I honestly expected Lady GaGa or Beyonce to beat her to 2 billion. Lady GaGa reached 1 billion first - so it was naturally assumed she would reach 2 billion first.

Still, congrats. to her!

Oh I see. Some sites are reporting them just as "YouTube views" which is wrong, then...

When you think about it, it's not all that surprising seeing as Rihanna has been around far longer than Gaga and has several more hugely popular singles.
