So after thinking about it for ages, I've finally decided to go on the pill.

I was actually a little taken back when I realised just how many of my friends were on it, and I was wondering if it was that common all over the country?

So are you on the pill? Are alot of you (obvs female) friends on it?
Also have you experienced any side effects?

I know I shouldn't be in this thread but alot of girls I know have the implant. It sounds pretty reliable from what I've heard it and seems like it would be a lot less hassle compared to some other alternatives.

on it
most of my friends are on it
for me there was no side effects at all, even though i wanted my boobs to grow UGH.
but for a few months my doctor put me on one with 3 different hormone levels and DO NOT go on it
it's ****, i'd have my period for like 5 days straight with it and it just always put me in a **** mood

im on mercilon if you're worried about weight gain that's the one that's meant to be the most effective in preventing that
OH and for contraceptive purposes DON'T RELY ON THE PILL honestly i find it so hard to remember to take mine every day
in fact this post just reminded me i've to start a new pack up

pretty much all my friends are on the pill haha but a lot of them do it because they have bad periods or whatever. i've never been on it but they were gonna prescribe it to me for my pain but i said no. i don't trust it, one of my friends tried to come off it after 5 years and her periods didn't come back until she went back on the pill:S. i'd be worried that after messing with my body so much i wouldn't be able to conceive. i'd prefer the implant if i had to have one and i have a few friends with it.

yeah that was the major thing holding me back. I was scared it was going tomajoritydo permanent damage but I'm hoping the benefits will outweigh the negatives. Main reason I got mine was trying to control my PMS which just plays havoc with my life for 2 weeks so hopefully the pill will reduce this because I'm bored of being a hormonal mess aha.

I did consider the implant but decided not to get it until I'm a wee bit older.

A lot of my friends did go a bit mental for the first two weeks so I'm just desperate to get the next week or so over

ROZI GON' GET SOME. Yeah the pill is useful for more than just contraception so unless you're allergic to it or something it's a good idea to go for it. I don't understand the whole "it's so difficult remembering to take it" thing though, like all sorts of ill people and athletes and dieters and whatnot manage it, surely it just becomes part of your routine

but tom you're meant to take it at the same time every day
even a few hours apart brings down i'ts effectiveness as contraception

how? i couldn't possibly take it in the morning as i'm up 9 4 days out of 7 and the others i'd sleep in til 12
during the day i could be out, it's hard to remember to stick your pill in your bag everywhere you go
and obviously sleep different times at night

my nurse lady said it didn't really make a difference
I think the different pill brands have differences in whether it matters or not

Been on pill since I was 12 (now 15) to control heavy periods. Was on microgynon 30 for 1 year but it made me constantly moody, made me sick and gave me bad headaches and I got diagnosed with mild dpression so got switched to a lower dose pill - loestrin 20 and I have been fine since. The pill doesn't suit everybody and some pills give different side effects to different people. Both pills have made my boobs grow a lot and both made me put on weight. I know people have gone on it for bigger boobs but then put on weight and been upset by it lool

ok no I'm coming off it

I'm really freaking about about this pain i've had in my legs since I started and everyone on the google search seems to think this is a symptom of blood clots as the pill increases your risk of it

eugh eugh eugh eugh
don't understand why they let me have it if they measured my blood pressure as high several times
