Ever since youtube changed the player a couple of days ago to the one with the cog as the icon for video quality, it seems to take much longer to load videos.

I also switched to cable yesterday, from adsl. My speed isn't an issue, I get 27 to 30mbps without a problem.

Does anyone else have this problem? What do you think could be causing this if it's anything I could fix?

It's improved for me recently, it's because they've got auto connection assessments on the player so it's setting the default quality to max your connection which probably drops in speed after 30 seconds of continuous download.

It isn't this. It's been having trouble even with 480p.

Bad connection to the specific server.

Its got worse for me too. I've noticed a big difference when watching youtube on my ipad, before the update I would buffer a 30minute long video quick enough for the video to start playing instantly, but now I have to wait even up to a few minutes for it to buffer sufficiently for it to start playing.

On and off on all videos.

As on MSN, no problems here, even streaming 1080p off the bat.

Any of you guys on Virgin? I've noticed speeds very slowly seeing as they must be doing maintenance to double our speeds, could perhaps be that. YouTube and any streaming service is slow.
