help updating my skyrim via usb pls

Hi,I need to update my xbox so I can load my save on skyrim but I don't have live or a wireless router for my xbox or a ethernet cable so I was hoping to do it via usb however I don't really know how could someone tell me how I install an update off a usb 'cos I followed a guide and thought I'd sorted my problem but my save still won't load because I havn't updated my version and I don't know how.

I already did that but nothing happened once I put I plugged it back in.
The xbox read that their was a skyrim update their but didn't install it or anything
