David Choe was offered to be paid thousands of dollars at the time or in shares for decorating Facebook's offices, luckily for him he picked shares. When facebook floats on the open market later this year his shares are estimated to be worth £126 million GBP.

Wow! bet he's extremely glad he opted for shares haha, he'd hardly be able to predict just how big a success it would be.

Wow. Must be amazing for him to think that if he'd picked the money back then, he'd be $200m worse off now!

Pretty amazing. He would of been insane to of taken the money in 2005, considering Facebook must of been worth something back then to bother with an artist, and offer shares as a payment in the first place, and even more comforting considering Facebook was still alive and able to invest in art two years laters, which sort of hints towards some amount of success, especially when shares are a good investment - $thousands of dollars vs shares which could break through that mark in a matter of years? I'd know which one I'd choose

It's one of those moments where the example of giving a child 1 sweet now, or 500 sweets another day comes into play. The child will take the sweets now rather than be patient and knowing there's a chance they will get more in the not so distance future.

Lucky or what?! Facebook mustn't have been worth much if they offered him a share of the company just to paint the walls.

It was probably equivalent value in shares.
