What is your opinion on 3D Televisions?

Fad. Waiting on 4k and OLED.
OLED is sexy then.
4k is sexy hi-res - Also the hobbit is being recorded in 4k.
3D is unrealistic as it forces 3d effect on things which we don't perceive in three dimensions most of the time.
I can't see it taking off anytime soon, not until it's more affordable

we bought a 3d tv only last month, it's actually quite good - the quality is amazing and it's literally unreal. however i can't see it being a big thing

Huge fad. I'm waiting for them to be incredibly cheaper than they are now, though loads of places seem to speculate that 3D will just be bundled in with Smart TVs and OLED TVs before the end of the year.

I'm not really bothered about 3d tvs. Theres not many perks to 3d and they're just expensive.

My dad is planning on getting one in a year or two when they've come down in price, which they are already.

Same here. I don't think it will turn into a big hype or anything

it's literally unreal.
Case and point - It's never done properly, looked cool for the ten minutes in avatar when it was actually used properly but since it's just been a distraction or used in the really tacky way.

It's just a gimmick. It was popular many years back and died out and I can see it dying out again.
I think too many people are using 3D when it isn't needed just to make money or they are using it to butcher classic movies.
i can't see 3d :{ i'm like one of a certain percentage it doesn't work on or something LMAO. waste of money.

When Graham Norton was interviewing Robert Downey Jr. about Sherlock Holmes 2 everyone cheered when he (Norton) announced the film isnt in 3D. No one really likes it. It's the 50s/80s again, it rears its ugly head and disappears after a few years :P

I'm not going to lie but.
I actually enjoy 3D movies in all honesty.
With the current technology it's useless, for the same size TV I'd have to pay around 200% more just for the privilege of Passive 3D, even then they never released Jackass in 3D. Absolutely useless unless of course, you have the money to waste.

I hate anything in 3d now days, gives me a really bad headache. 1080p is good enough. 3d to me is not something to drool over in my opinion. Just buy an LCD TV and 7.1 surround sound and pop in the blu rays and call it a night. ,
