Myself and [@]@Dave.[/@] had a moan over this(in a non-sexual way, giggidy) a few months back, and something was actually done about it. Although, just looking through the threads it's starting to trend again.

2. If you are not going to give constructive criticism, don't post at all - please do not reply with things like: bad. If you think it is bad then tell him or her how to improve it and actually help the member.

In my view, saying 'bad' is the same as 'looks good'. You don't get much help from people just saying it looks good, or looks bad, it's not constructivecriticism. You could post a ******* terrible picture, someone says it looks good and you'd then think you're the dogs bollocks(trust me, it's happened).

We don't have to have a full on clamp down on every post, but can people atleast offer alittle advice, rather than 'looks good' 'i like it' etc.

i kinda agree with this but at the end of the day, some people may not have any criticism and just want to share with the designer that they think they have done a good job.

Well there was a bit of an outburst tonight but I don't see it becoming a major issue. :S

The problem is that not everybody is going to be very critical of someones work and I think that with the exception of a few people generally there isn't that many posts that aren't constructive. If you do see some though report them and a (Super) Moderator will deal with them.

If someone posts the odd post like 'omg wow i really like your work' then I don't think we should moderate that, personally I would have no problem if someone wanted to post that, but if someones going over the top doing it in loads of threads then yeah I would say that person should be contacted by moderation.

I know what you mean and you've raised a good point really, it's annoying when people post in these threads to increase their post count rather than putting any effort into it and giving them feedback. It's not only the graphics forum you see posts like this though, it's the same in the music section and probably quite a few others too. I don't think that there's enough discussion going on myself. There's not much you can do to change that though, can you? I guess if the user asks for constructive criticism then you give it to them, otherwise you'll have to put up with the pathetic posts.

If there's something which could happen to decrease these posts then go for it. :P

If someone says they like the image then there must be something they like about it for them to like it in the first place, so they can mention that in the post too. Same goes with if they dislike the work, explain why. It's not hard to extend the post to make it more into a discussion and not an easy way to increase post count. I agree that this needs to be looked into.

I think as long as moderators utilise discretion and can identify if someone's just going around to every thread and saying "Looks Good" then I can't really see a problem with this?

totally agree with this, there was one user mentioning no names who posted in every active graphics thread yesterday straight after one another and didn't really offer that much to any of the threads. was obviously only for post count. and i agree with cameron it happens in music too.

I know who Bethie is talking about, do I win a prize?

I remember telling [@]@dbgtz[/@] that someone will post "It's cute" on my graphic before it dies of death and knowing good HabboxForum someone posted in record time saying that it was cute.

If it was me posting, I only say 'thanks' when someones replied to my work and ask questions if needed. If I don't have anything to say other than I like/dislike it then I will not comment.

I agree that positive feedback and negative feedback are the same in my eyes therefore it annoys me a lot when people have spent ages on graphics just to get "I like it" like what? It's not perfect so give me something to improve.

I remember [@]@Chris[/@] telling me that if it was persistent then they would be warned for it, but why? If they're new they should look at the rules and the old members may remember when the graphic rules were updated. If someone just replies "It's good" or something like that to me, they're just getting a thanks back, I will take less effort than them to reply.

I don't think people are going to start writing lines of posts saying how something looks good or bad. Maybe if we was a full on graphics forum but not when it's a forum full of teenagers/young adults. Feedback is feedback at the end of day and they think the photos are good and reply with: They look fantastic, well done. Then I don't see what the problem is? I can see if being a problem if a user then uses the same line in all of the recent threads in that section to get post count up. But if they have only done it in one or two threads then I don't know what the issue is.

Yes it would be handy if they gave them all feedback on how to improve next time but not everyone will be like that and maybe they don't know what they can suggest because they aren't a graphics person.

If we are going to force them to do more in replies in threads in the Graphics Forum then it would probably reduce the post count in that area. As users might be lazy and can't be arsed in actually replying fully. Some people offer more in replies, some people don't. It's a tricky one.

Can't read all the replies so yeah. I thought it's been like this for years? I always see replies like 'Very nice, well done', 'you're so talented. i love it' etc. If you really want them to reply with additional suggestions or like longggg sentences, then they might as well not post it. lol

The problem is that a lot of members do not have a talent for art/graphics so can't really give a lot of advice but obviously have an opinion about what they like and there is nothing wrong with them saying so. Anybody suspected of posting virtually the same thing all the time i.e. to get their post count up should be reported and action is taken. :)

I agree and I don't agree. Posts with quality are great but at the same time i do like to post "Nice picture, great work" now and then if i don't have anything i think they could change / i dislike. People who feel others should offer a little more should flip theirs views, although some posts may be just getting a post count why not give those who offer a little more some more credit, like plus rep for example. That way more people will attempt to put more quality into their posts for some rep. Sounds mad how i put this but someone who loves their post count are obviously going to love their rep too.
