It now says that you need to provide valid proof, but I'm sure that for many people; the majority of trades they report will not be ones which they've carried out themselves, and can therefore not screenshot the trade box. I think having the option of posting screenshots and/or using the old reporting method was good and worked fine imo :P.
As for the 'Expert' award, I'm not quite sure I understand exactly what it's for. Is it just like a MOTM but for the Report Rare Values forum? The description says 'For reporting quality values in the 'Report Rare Values' forum' but how do you define quality :P. Surely there are staff already in the department who are experts, eg minty who used to do an incredible amount of work and would sometimes go unnoticed.

Yeah looking back at it, I think the screen evidence should be optional.

The award is basically to encourage and thank people who help out. The non-staff reports are important because all the HxF user collectively, we could spot more mistakes and quicker. But yeh, the award is just to encourage people to help out :D Ask Sam tbh though x

I agree with the award and think it's a great way of motivating people to get involved with rare values, but again, I do think that people already in the department may also be worthy of such an award, particularly as it's titled 'Expert'.

Values Expert wouldn't fit on properly ok :'(.

I suppose as we are awarding a trial within the department with the award we could look at issuing it to the staff that are already there too, that's a nice idea tbh Luke. Also, I think when we say quality it's mainly about being accurate, but of course people can get bargains so if they inform us on the report that it was a bargain that could also be taken into account etc. If you understand what I mean, confused myself a bit.

Yea I see what you mean :P! I was just saying that current staff may deserve it as well :D.

What about former staff? ;) I want a slice of the cake!

I'm completely in agreement with Luke, when I first posted my reports in that forum I never provided screen shots. And without sounding too up myself, I was hardly a bad quality RVR. ;)

I like the idea of Values Expert as a public award .. its a very good idea, its just a shame that when I was manager I attempted to push something similar among staff (basically changing the role names) and was knocked back with no reason given. But as for the posting of values, i'd warn not to make or require users to provide evidence as it simply puts many people off .... i'd simply look for patterns (which is what its all about, really) in addition to what the reporters themselves were saying/what was happening in the trade rooms and for the bigger trades simply go and find out by asking the dealers/traders themselves.

Of course the system is always open to manipulation, but usually you can tell when there's a group of them trying to kid you when investigating - they'll usually all type very very very fast and all at once.

Thanks for your input Dan I think we've agreed that evidence will not be needed but it's a nice extra if anyone wishes to submit it!

The award is a nice idea but does not seem like it is working. Nobody has posted in that forum for a good while because those that are actually interested in reporting values will simply apply to be staff and submit their reports privately.

the habbox site isnt updated nearly as much as it should be which is a shame. I would have thought you would have at least updated the 1800 teleport price, I can remember posting a pic of my buying a set for 10c and mark posted saying he bought another pair for 45c yet the value remained at 60c for another 6 months. bearing in mind that there aren't that many of those teles floating about it would make sense to at least draw an average from a few trades rather than letting the current price stay. i realise there are a lot of rares to keep track of but come on guys!!!

think the award needs a little more publicity as people seem to still be unaware of its presence... oralternativelyjust aren't at all interested in reporting values.

Couldn't agree more ;)

A lot of people who apply find out through the Habbox website (Habbox.com/jobs) and then can get trials that way, and there isn't therefore any need for them to post values publicly on the forum. However, I agree that a little more publicity could potentially help :).
