Why is there artists we hear nothing of for ages?

Such as Little Boots and Alphabeat etc. They were really popular in 2008/2009 and I haven't heard much of them since and I really liked them :(

Completely forgot about them, A lot of them have fizzled out. Theres better artists at the moment anyway.

i think some of them are still making music just not mainstream. little boots wasn't very mainstream to begin with and then remedy got quite popular, but i don't think her other stuff is as commercially viable.

The way I see it is a lot of bands come out with a few good singles but struggle after. Sometimes I feel like the bands fire so much out to begin with single after single that they have nothing left to give and then just fade. They really should pad it out in my opinion, give people a chance to listen.

No, that's not true. This thread is about artists that have kind of faded out since a couple of years ago and both Alphabeat and La Roux had huge hits ('Fascination' and 'Bulletproof' come to mind) before kind of going underground.

I rarely hear anything from Robyn either, and she was respected in 2007 xD

Artists don't actually make that much money on their first albums because it usually goes back to their record label. Of course they make some money but not as much as most people would think.

la roux should have hers out this year as well.
