I never thought i'd say this but habbox should take a leaf out of habbos book :P
Happy Valentine's Day, Yet!
We want to thank you for all your patience during the last few days of technical hick-ups. We're still encountering intermittent issues with our servers, but hope to have everything resolved very soon!
Because we appreciate your loyalty (and patience!), we're giving every Habbo that signed in over the last 8 days one week of FREE Habbo VIP - starting right now, on Valentine's Day!
Please note: If you're already a VIP member, the seven days of free VIP will be added to your membership
I hate to be the one to complain but is this going to be another regular occurrence like last year? I don't think it'd be as bad if people were constantly updated on what's happening. I went into the help desk last night to see what was the problem and the staff hadn't got a clue. The forums where down for sometime last night and perhaps I'm just blind but as far as I can tell we didn't receive any reasoning behind it, it was just brushed under the carpet.
Also I know this isn't on topic but it saves me from making another thread :( is there any way i can stop my textfrom goinglikethis and before some smart arse replies, I have been using the space button ;)

http://www.habboxforum.com/showthread.php?t=735504For that part^ It tells you what to do to 'stop' the error XL
And for the first part, I completely agree - It's an annoyance when the forum (and main site) goes down for quite a while and we end up with no information on how long it is expected to last and what caused the error. As Richie said, the staff in the HxHD didn't know what was wrong at all so it ended up being a very long "waiting game".

In regards with no one being told. When all three sites are down you check Habbox's Facebook and Twitter, which do say (Twitter does anyway) that no one could do anything.
www.twitter.com/habbox (http://www.twitter.com/habbox)
https://twitter.com/#!/habboxdev
It was only during the night, and everyone knows there is like 4 or 5 people online so it's not a massive issue. I know last year we all got 3 days VIP if we PM'd scott, but in this case it was 6ish hours, yes it is a long time but I don't think long enough :P

Ah, fair dos - I was completely unaware they had a twitter page though (I also don't use Twitter so I wouldn't have come across it.) Do you think that many people know to go and check their twitter page for website issues though? If some of the HxHD staff don't know then I wouldn't expect a lot of regular users to know.

I tend to try to keep twitter / facebook personal so avoid checking them encase friends find out lol (Which is my problem). I never thought to check the twitter, perhaps hxhd could be informed about these problems directly because i know a number of people came in last night asking what was wrong with the sites and the reply they got was 'dead' which isn't very informative.
don't think it's a massive issue yet (i haven't noticed any downtime recently, though i may have been asleep), it's creeping up to being a big thing but not yet.

4 or 5 people? I think you're underestimating how large Habbox is...

The problem last night was unexpected and Jin was online at the time looking into the problem. Im not sure how long it was down for but it was working fine when I woke up. Its hard getting a message across to the staff who could answer your questions and I do normally put messages up on the twitter and Facebook accounts. We can inform them about the pages if they aren't aware of them already. If it was for a number of days then we would probably give extra days of vip/donator.

Na i was joking about the vip but this is how it all started last time. Everyone was like 'relax, it was only a few hours' then a few hours led to a day and before we knew it it was down for a number of days which resulted in a huge loss of activity. If something like that happens again I can't see how habbox will pull through.
