Do you have set computer times?

Excuse the thread title, not may ways I could of worded that... Simple question though. Do you have time boundaries or limits to be online? Can happily say I do, think it just shows my parents just don't want me recklessly on the internet all the time... Not that people without limits have irresponsible parents. Just a matter of opinion I guess? On average I'm given around 5/6 hours online daily, most of the time I don't bother going on for that amount of time however.

I know some people without limits on more or less anything... It sounds fun, actually it's not as much fun as I expected initially.

not now but when i was at school up until i was about 16 apart from friday/saturday my mom used to take the router upstairs with her to bed at like 10:30pm.

Um, not really. I can remember they used to be angry at me staying up late though when I was 16 but I don't ever remember being restricted. Everyone apart from my dad stays up late now anyway.

I don't have a time limit on the internet, I just go off when I'm bored :P

I go on when I fancy and off when I fancy. I used to be regulated by my mother although those days are truly over. :P

nah mum wasnt at home on weekend when i was younger so i'd stay on till like 5 am. me and my brother used to get an hour and a half each though when we had to share computers. i don't have a limit now but the router gets turned off either when i go to bed or mum goes to bed, so usually 9pm on a weekday and whenever i want on a weekend.

Nope I've never had a limit! My parents always encouraged me to do other things, but they soon gave up with that :P

Uh, my mum doesn't really like me going on the computer before 9:30 and staying on later than 11. Unless it's school nights, I have to be off by 10.. Anyway, I can kinda understand why she'd want that so I don't mind.

No, never. I have my own computer, my own laptop, internet on my phone. I can go online whenever I want, really.

Did when we all used one computer, and back in the dial-up days (half of you prob never had to live with dial-up...) it was rationed even more. Used to pay my mum like a quid an hour to go on Habbo

Not really, but before I got my own computer in like 2007/2008 I had to use my Dads and he'd just tell me to get off if it was too late, now he can't as he doesn't really have any right :P

Don't have limits. My parents trust me to decide when I should go off the computer, or the xbox or go to bed etc.

When I was smaller I used to have limits on the computer but I don't remember what they were since it was so long ago. I remember getting caught one time on Habbo at like 4h00 before school and getting banned from the internet. It's good that I have no limits now because I am on it all day!

I remember when I was like 12/13 and I stayed up until morning which was about 5am and when my mum tends to get up. I didn't hear her going around the house and she opened my bedroom door, could tell I hadn't been to sleep and she ripped my ethernet cable out the wall (wireless wasn't standard back then)

I did when my whole family shared a computer, I think it was probably like and hour and a half at a time. But when I was about 14 I got my own laptop and it didn't matter anymore and I had no limits. I have no limits now either.

Yeah when I was younger like when he had a family computer but now I go off and on my laptop as I please.

I remember our family used to have a computer and that was it, we could go on an hour at a time as there was me and my sister. However, we got internet on the 22nd December and I think (if I remember correctly) one of our presents for Christmas was a laptop (I could be wrong). Anyway, as the computer was extremely slow we could have 1 hour each on laptop so we alternated, but my sister used to go on for longer so I got longer (sometimes) too. Was unfair if she didn't come off though when I wanted to go on.

We then got a laptop from the school and me and my mum acted as if that was our laptop, we got another laptop for Christmas and then another one as the first one broke (my sister got one free too).

We don't have boundaries now as such, I am allowed on before I go to College, when I come home during my frees I have to have something to eat before going on and then I stay on until I go back usually. Then at hope I go on at about 6 then come off at 9:30-10 as we have to go to bed then even if I don't start College until later.

I'm not allowed to like, come home, go on laptop immediately, also got to ask to use my own laptop too.

No I don't, i'll tend to go on a lot for a few weeks then go off it - in the summer I won't go on for a few weeks at a time other than to check the blogs, far too busy in the garden.

Yeah, I have to get off the computer at 10pm everynight. Dad will take my laptop away and the router (which I pay for anyway, but because its his house :rolleyes: he can pretty much do what he wants) to avoid me going online in the early hours

i don't really have restrictions now, but on school nights my mum prefers that i don't stay on it too late. when i was younger i remember being mad because i used that AOL browser and my mum set me restrictions so it logged me off the internet and wouldn't let me back on after being on for more than 2 hours LOL, glad that's gone now..

I use to be only allowed 1 hour, but now it's 2hours. (Although usually I'm on it from 3:30pm to 10pm on weekdays... LOL)

I used to when I was at school, but they've never been too strict. Now I can come on as and when as it's my laptop, mum doesn't care aslong as I make sure all my jobs are done around the house... lol

I seem to remember my mum trying to impose some rules but I rarely paid attention to them :P
