Happened to me a second time. You can see how he says the really long sentence and also adds furni :P. Just shows how low people go to get furni.http://www.mattgarner.net/upload/images/qIkdF.png

Aha, that's quite an interesting scam :L - I've been distracted by normal speech before though when trading. I think it was [@]@Charlotte[/@]; or [@]@Poodle[/@]; (I don't know, she has like 100 accounts) was talking to me in my shop and I completely forgot about the trade and gave the girl some stuff for fr + then nearly did the same with some guy.
I lied to the girl cause she got all big-headed and thought she tricked me, so I said "Na, I gave it to you for free cause you're amazing :) x" then got hit on >.<

Basically, someone starts trading you for furniture - e.g. you could be selling a heart sofa for 2c. Then, that person tries to distract you whilst trading by speaking a lot of random stuff - e.g. "did you know that more than 67% of Britons said..." quite a lot of times. Whilst you're reading the random stuff they may take (in this example) 1 bronze coin out and quickly click accept. You may not notice due to distraction and click accept as well :P

It's basically when a person goes and trades you, they type a really long sentance to try and distract you. When you are distracted, they trick you and put some stuff worthless in like the image above without you noticing. Most of the time, they can get away with it.
Quite an interesting scam and only one thing to say: Always be focused on a trade!

Thanks for the answers you two! +rep
How desperate can someone get?
This scam has been around for a good while now, it was doing rounds when the the new 9 box trade was first introduced.
Tbh, 'distraction scam trading' as I like to call it comes in many different guises:
1) Speech whether its fact as you said or just shocking comments in capital letters etc, I actually had someone who traded me and took out a sack while shouting 'OMG JUST READ ON NEWS THAT PRESIDENT BUSH HAS DIED!'
2) The not seen as often movement scam where they ask you to watch them do something really cool as they trade you (and take items out) such as 'I'm gonna turn into black pixels, watch!' or 'Look at my dancing and you'll see me naked'. I have only seen this one twice.
3) General clicking in and out trading where they keep putting different things in and taking them out again, in the hope you wont notice when they do remove a costly item.
Thanks for the heads up though.
its ridiculous, how low can u go really

habbo got low low low low low low low low.
apple bottom jeaaans boots with the fur.
its smart, but not worth it lol
Very smart, I don't really see how I'd ever be able to trick someone with it.. although I'd be a great target for anyone that wants to try this, I tend not to pay attention when trading. ;)
Thanks for the heads up, I'm going to try avoiding this one. :)

Yep it was so obvious, the trade just moved when he done it.. not noticeable one bit! :P Like I wouldn't notice a gb going missing from my trade.

Jan, you're always having to be negative or make sure people are right? Does it matter what it's called? They're distracting you with speech so it makes sense to call it the coin/speech scam. I don't know why you have to criticize it. :S

The oddest part of my experience was I saw the guy AND talked to him in a previous shop. Then he came to mine and tried to scam me :P.
