Hey,

I just want to clear something off my mind, When i go into Habbox Events and i see people abusing the Host for no apparent reason it angers me, These guys are giving you there OWN furniture for nothing in return other than you tune into Habboxlive and sign upto Habboxforum other than that nothing in return and they do it at there own choice nobody has told them to they have applied to give the furniture away and represent Habbox by hosting events, So just remember when your in an event to thank the host for giving away there furniture for prizes for the event and for hosting a event and not by abusing them for no apparent reason.

Hope some of you learn.

Liam.

You can't really stop it, they are entitled to an opinion and usually it's because the host persistently does something wrong. However, I agree that if the host isn't doing anything wrong then you shouldn't abuse them.

I agree with this but as Sam said you cant stop it. People are people these days

I suppose if the host is doing something continuouslywrong then they should be told of/ asked to stop by Managers or even other Event Organisers, There all entitled to there opinion yes but they should state there opinion by not using abusive comments maybe by speaking to the host after the event to say what he/she did wrong/right.

I see this a lot - randoms coming in and cussing out the host for no reason. Or if they lose they get mad even though its there own fault.

The joys of being a HxEO

Exactly, They need to be thanked more to be quite honest.

Oh it was fun being an HxEO; the chance to be hated just for being a host..

It's sweet of you to bring this up, but there's absolutely nothing we can do about any of it XD

Yes i know theres nothing we can do about it but i just want people to realise that they are giving up there time and furniture for them.

If someone persistently underachieves in class, you don't abuse them. There are ways and means of raising issues so there's no need to take it out on the people who give up their time and furniture! We'll follow it up if you just tell us! :)

Yeah, that's exactly what we do! :) If we see an event that's particularly below average, then we usually send a feedback PM to the Events Organiser in question with quite a lengthy description of where they went wrong and how they can improve. I don't agree with "telling people off" on a voluntary fansite, but telling them how to improve or informing them of our expectations is a step in the right direction. Of course, we send feedback PMs to those who host particularly good events too!

Thanks for posting! :D xo

Yeah, I understand where you're coming from, but it's not exactly something that can be changed. I guess people aren't so kind and polite and don't really appreciate it. Maybe hosts should be stricter, and instead of carrying on with their thousands of warnings, they shouldn't tolerate it and just ban those that are being ungrateful and rude from their event. :)

Ye really not something we can change, plus do we tell people to tune into hxl? Apart from a certain few I think not...

I'm pretty sure most events organisers will advertise it once or twice, although it would be quite nice if maybe there was a wired box in the room if they're not going to remember to advertise. :P

I assuming the steps are still in the handbook regarding how to deal with unacceptable behaviour in events?

Yeah, but that'd be no good. ;)

I just think these are situations which aren't so important, yes, it's lovely to get thanked for hosting an event, or getting more listeners because an event is advertising www.habbox.com or whatever, it's just unlikely that it can be changed for the better. It wouldn't be so easy.

The amount of EOs advertising has improved lately I think, especially thanks to the wired messages. It's something that I try to take note of in reports! :)

Behave!! ;)

Yep! We generally just say that if someone's being rude / abusive then first they should be politely told to stop. If it continues then they are kicked, and if it continues upon their return, then they're banned. Simple! :P

While I agree with the sentiments, I imagine you're preaching to the choir here. Dealing with trolls or nastypieces of workis part of being an events staff and also life in general so I'd say it's a good skill to have to develop a tough skin and not let silly comments get you down. I think they can handle themselves anyway :D

i might think yr events are crap but as a sign of respect for habbox in general i wouldn't put a dj says on the habboxlive website telling them not to go down.

=) I haven't had this problem yet.. Honestly though, It depends on what the host is doing, and how they react to their childish comments.

Thing is, you're going to get this all over Habbo you just have to deal with it. If you respond to them you're letting them win by giving them attention because at the end of the day that's all you want and by making this thread you're letting them win... Simple as really. You just gotta deal with it and ignore them.

It's funny how you guys have been complaining about this thing when back in those days I used to host events for HXL and I got problems coming from Habbox staff themselves, the management have done nothing apart from a few 'bully' threads.

If you make a specific complaint against a single member of staff with supporting screenshot evidence then you can pretty much guarantee it will be followed up. If you throw around huge generalisations like "Habbox staff themselves" then naturally it's going to be treated as a much wider problem and the issue will be addressed with a thread, as management don't know who it is. This means the individuals in question don't get directly addressed.

Names were mentioned and screen shots were sent. I even keep some of them now but the thing is those whom I made complaints about are still Habbox staff. I only hope just actions will be taken in the future if it happens again. :)

That's because staff aren't dismissed straight away, there's warnings and whatnot, unless it's an exceptional circumstance. Don't know the cause of your problems so can't say if your complaintswere treated fairly or not but just a possible explanation as to why they're still around.

You can't stop people from doing this, but if the host hasn't done anything wrong, it's pretty pathetic.

People should respect the host, even if they have made a slight slip up.

And it's even stupider when habbox staff and management are involved in this... they're the ones who are supposed to stop things like this from occuring.
