iDiscussions
iDiscussions is a new discussion forum which opened yesturday. I am still adding some new features but you can still see the forum and sign up on it and post away! We do not force you to sign up on the forum and you will still be able to see most of the features a normal member can see. We don't have many posts because we are brand new but hopefully we can get some more members!

Nearer the time, we will be selling Sports Relief premium membership and all funding will go towards Sports Relief along with other great campaigns to raise money for Sports Relief but we will announce all the details nearer the time as we are still planning it.

Don't really like the name or the domain. You should have been a bit more unique with the name as it seems to me you've just thought of iDiscussions and bought the .org domain because the .com, .net, .co.uk were not available lol.
The layout is ok, you can tell it's primarily for male members lol.
Best of luck with it!

Actually, they were available but I decided the .org domain name would sound better. "Visit idiscussions.org today!" I personally think sounds better then "Visit idiscussions.com today!" and anything I make up as unique, everybody says it is terrible so I thought at least if someone using Google would find this forum somehow, they would be able to know what genre it is without needing to click it to find out.

The layout, it isn't just for male users and I will be uploading a more girlish theme later on. We have also installed TapaTalk so if you are using your mobile phone then you can easily use the forum.

Anyhow, thanks for the best of luck.

I think the domain is fine, personally! The theme is a bit bland and boring though, perhaps it could do with some more colour or at least a forum banner? :P

Good luck!

I've never really understood these sorts of forums:

Forum - An Internet message board.

Message Board - An Internet forum, or message board, is an online discussion site where people can hold conversations in the form of posted messages

The point I'm trying to get to is that there is no focus or hook for any registrations. You've just bunged a load of topics together which people may find interesting to post at - however more successful forums, personally, have that extra focus which engages the users. Instead you've just got a forum for... discussing, which is conveniently what it's meant to be used for. I'm not saying that that's definitely correct but I only joined this forum because it was about Habbo as that means that there is a link between users due to a similar interest.

Also I don't really like the design, it looks a bit plain, boring and bland to me and is really not that appealing.

Regardless I wish you all the best of luck with your forum. :)

I do understand your point and as it is the early stage, I will be making it more unique. This is more of an off-topic forum as you could call it but I will be adding new and unique things. The theme is just a replacement for now while we are getting another theme soon.

From my point of view the early stage is where you really need to develop your 'selling' point (even if you're not selling (A)).

The reason Habbox has a relatively large community is, I would presume, because it started off with people who played Habbo as that was the target audience. Whilst they can then drift off to any other section if they like (for example I had about a ten month break not playing Habbo but still browsed the forum), the bulk of the registrations I'm sure came because they play Habbo or they have friends who play Habbo when they don't anymore.

In other words, how are you going to get any registrations if there's nothing special? What's stopping these people who want to join into a discussion joining this forum or digitalspy for example, even if they do have this focus?

If the domains are available then why not buy them and if you prefer the .org one set them to re-direct. The more main popular versions of a domain you have the better. Remember .org isn't really used a lot for forums, people will try something else such as .co.uk so if you can have it re-direct to the .org then it's a good thing as it gives you a possible larger audience.

I hate portal on forum. And the link to the forum is missing on your site.

I will probably do this soon when I can.

Have had a problem with this and will be fixing it as soon as I can. For now, just click the header and it will direct you to the forum.

I developed many discussion forums in the past, and the key thing is to have a custom skin.

I don't suggest using a free release one mainly because it shows that the administrators are lazy, purchase a custom one which is eye appealing. I'm not keen on MyBB but if you know the advanced of it then stick with it.

The domain is good, stick with it.

You just need more content, a competition to bring in members and a new custom skin. Other than that, good luck

thanks guys, you can thank www.audentio.com (http://www.audentio.com) for that! (:

The domain we will look in to later when I generate more funds for the site. A £20 competition is now up however!
