opinions on smokers and smoking in general really fascinates me. some people are so so anti and yet more people (like) myself are very much live and let live.

do you smoke? if yr not old enough (and are a good kid and don't do things before it's legally) would you smoke? have you smoked in the past?

i smoke irregularly, i enjoy smoking and if i could afford to i would smoke as a regular habit regardless of the health risks attached. my dad smokes and my mom is very anti, but i have always loved the smell of smoking from a young age: i think it has a comforting factor to me.

SO yeah how about you?

another i find interesting is that some people find it a complete turn-off to know that their partner smokes, would you find it hard to be with someone who smoked? even if you clicked 100% emotionally and physically?

(when i say smoke, i am talking primarily about tobacco/traditional smoking. though i do find it pretty bizarre when there are people like na i dnt smke it r bad 4 u but i do luv havin a spliff, o.... okay then....)

Yes i smoke regularly 5 cigarettes a day, i spend the extra $2 a pack on cigarettes that dont have 100s of chemicals in them just because it tastes like wet burning cardboard. I enjoy too its a good stress reliever but i've been spitting traces of blood and i'm unsure if its smoking relating, but if it is i'm going to quit right away.

When i was a kid i loved the smell of cigarettes. I hate dramatic people that purposely cough in front of smokers and try to make smokers look bad. And i hate it when people come up to me and try to tell me that smoking is bad for you. YOU DONT SAY???

I tried an E-Cig, but its just awful tasting. If you don't care for how long you live for, keep smoking. If you want to quit smoking but still be addicted to nicotine by smoking vaporized "smoke", then get an E-Cig.

I have tried a cigarette once, and I didn't like it so I don't seem myself smoking any time soon. I don't mind people who smoke as long as they don't do it right in my face. The smell from cigarettes I actually like but only when it's not super strong, as in I like when someone has been smoking a while ago.

Smoking is very common where I come from. I dated a guy that went through a pack or a pack and a half of cigarettes per day and I didn't mind it at all. I didn't think kissing him was gross after that or anything. It was just part of him and, like you said Beth, live and let live. I don't judge people for it at all. I smoke sometimes but I have had problems with my lungs since I was little so it is usually only socially. I try not to aggravate the situation I am already in. My parents both smoke and so on so I am very used to it. When I do smoke, I prefer flavoured cigarettes.

i think this is what makes me (and you) quite lucky because when i do smoke, i feel no addiction towards it. i know if i run out of **** then i can't have anymore and that's it.

i won't actively HUNT out a smoke.

i'm one of those really annoying anti smokers ..... that smokes.
i first smoked when i was 12. then i smoked on and off from 13-16 (although stopped for months at a time), smoking 2 or 3 during weekdays and then maybe a 10 pack at the weekend. usually only socially because YES, I FELT PRESSURED. i didn't really enjoy it until after a while i looked forward to smoking and getting drunk ;_;
stopped when i was 17 as i became a social recluse. started again when i was 18 and became a weekend smoker. recently only smoking 4 or 5 menthols on a saturday. rarely through the week unless im having a drink.
+ people call me hypocritical but i cant stand when people smoke near me or sit next to me with the smell of stale smoke... :/ yes i used to do it when i was younger but even then only near other smokers or if i know they don't mind.
i don't think i'll ever truly give up and im not going to say that i am because knowing i shouldn't be doing something makes me do it. im not going to be drinking much after saturday (promise) so won't be smoking either. i love watching people smoke though dunno what it is about it. maybe just knowing they're ruining their body - especially pretty girls.... so i dont feel guilty about the damage ive done to me


& lol i know a guy that doesn't smoke, doesn't drink but will smoke weed, do a bong, sometimes take pills etc lol but yeah its a massive turn off for me

I remember talking to someone once on msn and he was on webcam for some reason and he started smoking? I got really weirded out by that, think it was more the fact that he smoked in his bedroom so there was less ventilation and more chance of starting a fire. However, he said he stopped but now continues to smoke, drink, do drugs and I don't think I could be with someone doing that just because I value my life and wouldn't want to be on the wrong end if they had a mood swing. Same to the fact I could never date anyone on drugs because my neighbours were always on them and I would just be scared.

My current boyfriend doesn't smoke, do drugs or drink (he can't drink but ye) so I feel more safe to him and I don't feel pressurised to smoke at all, I will not try it if I was going to I would have done when my best friend was a smoker in year 8/9. Some of my family smoke and they tell me not to smoke, I wouldn't anyway but I don't think it would please me or anything to smoke, I don't mind if I see people smoke but then again I think it's their life their ruining not mine and I don't passive smoke much it's only when my Mum can't open door or anything that a little might come my way.

My uncle (and my dad I think) always cough at my aunties because her and my mum smoke more together or when they're on the phone and now my auntie has resorted to smoking in the shed, I mean come on, all fine and good but when it's raining or snowing you need another option.

TL;DR I wouldn't smoke, probably couldn't date someone who does, not bothered about people smoking.

My granny told me she started smoking when she was 15, and she was like so proud of it. lol. No. I wouldn't smoke. Smoking is bad for your health and it increases the risk of cancer. And the smell of the cigarette smoke is just awful.

This is pretty much the same as me, I'm kind of a social smoker and smoke around people but when im away from people I have no cravings for tobacco at all. My mum always told me that if I started smoking socially that I would become addicted, but its never happened (I don't take it for granted though)

When I do smoke, I smoke 3 or 4 in an evening with my friends then I usually stop.

I'm not against smoking, and I've been out with smokers in the past and I couldn't care less about the smoking side

Yup I smoke and I still enjoy it. I don't really smoke THAT much, I mean more than I probably should but I don't chain. I smoke maybe 4 rollies on an average day, but not like fat ones aha. On the weekend I tend not to smoke that much if I'm drinking anyway because it always ends up making me feel dizzy and vomalicious. Most of the times I've puked has been down to just smoking too much. I don't forsee myself being an adult smoker, and when I'm away from temptation I don't feel any sort of need to have a ***. i do however occasionally smoke weed, i don't know how you can't understand people (like myself) who don't smoke cigarettes or drink, but will smoke weed. i have an anxiety disorder amongst other conditions and i find cannabis a life saver. it totally chills be out and stops me doing stupid things when i'm having an episode. my parents know i do this and having explained it to them are fine with it. it's not a regular habit or even a recreational thing; it's something i do to help ease my problems.

I've smoked quite a bit since I'm underage but it's not as bad as some of my friends haha. I'd have the odd cig with friends then it changed more to smoking whenever I was drinking with friends or out and about. I have some friends though and they're about 13/14 and they really liketo show off the fact they smoke which I think is annoying. Like posting pics of them smoking with their windows open and stuff. I've never actually tried smoking and don't plan to any time soon. A couple of my main family members smoke such as my mum, step dad and sister I believe. I've never really liked them doing it but if it's their choice at the end of the day. As long as they don't smoke in the house or fully near me then I don't have a problem.

I think the reason why I've not tried it yet is because of the smoke, I can't stand it. I always move out of the way if anyone smoke comes near me at bus stops and so on.

I'm sorry to hear about that. My grandpa died 3 months short of being 99 and he smoked all of his life and he smoked until he couldnt hold a cigarette anymore. I also have a grandpa that died of emphysema and died in his early 70s. None of my family members got cancer from smoking relations which makes me a little positive i might not get cancer either but i don't want to take the risk, i got so much life ahead of me. But if i knew the world was going to end in 20 years i might just keep at it then lol

I smoke around 10 a day sometimes more it depends if I'm drinking or not, I rarely smoke normal cigarettes I smoke rolling tabacco which doesn't all the added chemicals that cigarettes have however it's still just as bad for you. I have been known to quit for a few weeks before but then I always just think "mmm I'll have the cheeky one" then I end up back to where I started again.

It really is a disgusting habit and I hate it, if only it was so easy to quit. I think that I will quit one day but at the moment I just can't be dealing with the withdrawals, it gives me such a bad headache if I don't have one and I'll feel sick blahblahblah even though that will only last for a few days I just hate it.

Then not to mention the price has just gone up for cigarettes so now when I do fancy a normal cigarette I'm forking out let's just say near enough £5, it is a proper waste of money and I'd probably have so much more money if I quit but it's just one of those things. I don't really mind smokers, I just hate it when people smoke inside their houses it makes everything smell and I do hate sitting in my own cigarette smoke eurg (had one last night in my room but only because I was so tired I didn't wanna go all the way outside).

I rarely smoke, it's only if I'm drinking. I'm asthmatic so I really shouldn't, but it's only the odd few. About the smell, I can never really notice it but my mum smokes and my ex gf started wearing my hoody to school and her friends asked why she smelled of smoke, so it obviously depends on whether you're used to being around it. I think it's ridiculous the fuss people make because of it though, moaning about people smoking when walking past them etc, it's not going to make any difference to you if someone smokes walking past you.

Did you know people who smoke have higher stress levels than none smokers? When you smoke you relieve your stress but then afterwards your body withdraws which makes you more stressed than you already was.

i smoke 30 a day. i smoke rolling tobacco because it works out about 10 pound per week to smoke, rather then 7 pound a day. ive quit before but i was dying of stress so whats the point!

Whenever I feel like vomitting only from DRINKING if I have a smoke it makes me feel like im not gonna vomit anymore,
and in cases where i knew i was gonna vomit and had a smoke it stopped me from vomitting.

I dont smoke and never have mainly because I have always tried to make my mum quit so if I did then I'd be a hypocrite but I also hate the smell

It knocks me sick the smell so I don't smoke personally. I have tried it at partys but I don't see the big deal? Of course I've never been addicted though so my opinion on them is pretty biased.

I'd also add that i'm not one of these anti-smoking moaners who complain about 'THE SMELL' which isn't a bad smell at all compared to other smells which are about.


yes i smoke. i hate when people go out of their way to cough when the walk by or mutter something under their breath when i smoke, get over it. i smoke in designated places, not in public - if the public comes into the designated smoking space, i couldn't care less. if i'm driving, i'm smoking - it's my car i don't care.

i can honestly say some of the most legit people i've met have been when i was loaded outside having a smoke at the bar.

i'm very anti smoking, i can't stand it and it is a massive turn off for me, i couldn't date someone who does. i just think it's so stupid to waste loads of money on something that is basically killing you, where is the fun in that? i could use the money i would spend on smoking to do better things.

I always said I'd never spoke but when I hit end of being 17, i started casually smoking like an idiot. I've just turned 18 now - so not been doing it long but it's a horrible habit to have.

I used to smoke 20 B&H Gold a day, now I'm on about 15 rollies, Golden Virginia FTW ha. As a kid, I was VERY anti smoking, but for the past 6 years now I've been smoking, and haven't quit as I do enjoy it. Now, I do actually find it a turn off for a girl to smoke, yes I'm hypocritical, but it is just my views. I'm a very healthy person other than this habit of mine, I rarely drink, although I do thoroughly enjoy a few, I eat healthily, and I'm always in the gym.

To anyone that wants to quit, i recommend purchasing an E-Cig. I bought one the other day at a gas station for $20 and let me tell you, for a week i've got my sense of smell back. But then i lost it :( So ill have to buy another one but its worth the invest me if you want to be healthy again

Oh no, I don't smoke. I won't ever, I have no interest in smoking or ever planing to either. I do know lots that do, they try to be ' cool ' by smoking and acting like they're rebels by smoking/choking on them all day long. :P
