sometimes i'll be walking through birmingham city centre and i'll come across a group of young guys (usually about 14-18) who are dressed in practically the same outfit with varying shades of chino and van colour. and it always makes me wonder if these people actually aim to look alike and if their friends are their main influence?

i think everyone does take an influence (even if it's tiny) in the way they choose to present themselves from the people they hang out with, but these people take to a complete extreme.

i think i do dress like some of my closest friends, mainly because we grew up together, listening to the same music and being into the same things. i think i probably am the most "alternative" of my friends as i actually still listen to a lot of music (e.g: hardcore/post-hardcore) that many of my friends grew out of in their late-teens and kinda went a bit more mainstream.

i think tumblr is a massive influence in my style, i'm forever seeing new clothes or outfits (handmade or otherwise) on tumblr that i want to recreate. infact, i think it's probably my main influence.

do any of you use fashion blogs or keep up with the fashion world itself (@flyingjesus our in-house fashion designer here at habboxforum hahah).

My main style influence has always been from some of the more accessible - but still quality - brands in France. A lot of my stuff is from Lacoste so I often have that sort of look about me. That being said, it kind of puts me out of place here in Québec because everyone here is dressed so absolutely casually compared to back home that I confess I have changed my wardrobe a bit to avert staring.

A cardigan with a button-up shirt underneath is rarely seen here like it is common back home and I noticed in the hotel pool that my bathing suit was considerably smaller and tighter than the long shorts that the other guys wear! Of course, I was embarrassed and got some new stuff immediately. It is culture shock!

erm i don't consciously buy anything that i've seen on other people or advertisements - except if it's pixie lott cause i love her style or if i see someone in the street wearing shoes i like then i might think about buying them. i definitely wouldn't wear anything my friends wear! they're so boring but then again i don't have much style either. i have to admit i'm mostly influenced by asian cultures such as what korean or japanese celebs wear because they're always so goddamn pretty.

I don't really have a style. I live in trackies/joggers though.. or lounge pants. I dress very man-ish but still manage to keep it girly. I just wear what suits me and what is comfy. :)

I don't really have a style either I kind of stick to what I know looks best on me like a nice pair of jeans and a nice shirt just really casual really. Saying that I do love Fred Perry and as @Glitzen (http://www.habboxforum.com/member.php?u=3079) said I basically live in joggers too simply because most days I simply can't be bothered to make the effort and I think they look okay if I match with a nice shirt.

Oh and I really don't know what influences me probably everything magazines/tv and sometimes my friends or people I know.

i'm not sure really, i think it would be down to a number of different things.

when i first started changing my style in one of the early years of high school i started listening to different music and became interested in different things. i didn't follow a crowd and kinda did my own thing from that point onwards. i think one of the main influences would have to be music and the internet. i love quite a lot of old music and different bands which makes me want to go for a more vintage look if you know what i mean. and on the internet there's loads of different websites which shows different styles of clothing, haha.

To be honest I look best wearing just boxers, but generally I go for smart casual with stylish (as in actual stylish, not Topman/indie stylish) clothing of a good cut that works with my body. I don't particularly have people that I look to for ideas on what to wear but basically anyone with a similar body type to mine who looks good will do the trick

i don't really know - i'd say subconsciously, from everywhere (so from what i see on tv, on websites, other people, magazines etc.). i don't really aim to be influenced by specific styles, i just get bored and then decide to try/buy on something i don't have and then see how it looks on me.

I try to ignore quick fashion fads like palazzo trousers last summer and those quilted jackets. I'm increasingly becoming a little bit more 'ethnic' inspired, like I've always loved aztec-y patterns and stuff, and it's most easily portrayed through accessories. I don't really like wearing overly patterned clothes like florals, but I love bold blocky prints but not in colours lol. I don't really know where I sort of went down my style path from, I think I always admired the sort of urban hippy (LOL) look so yeah but obvs it's impossible to not be subconsciously manipulated by adverts and trends etcetc

i think when people say "i have my own style" is bulls, everyone is influenced in some way or another, even though i do try to be different but with living in such a small town its hard to find clothes that people won't have. personally though i do like the vintage sort of style even though i don't own much as i can't afford it, i've been trying to have a look around charity shops but there is no good ones where i live.

I just wear dresses really. I know what styles suit me and I just go by what I like. I read look magazine and a few other mags.
I think its weird when you see groups of girls and they all wear the EXACT same thing because me and my group of friends have our own styles and I wouldn't wear what they wear.

I've never really had much of a style, mine ranges from alot of stuff to be honest.
I do get nagged about what I wear though, apparently it's either to 'out of fashion' or too 'mainstream'.
But I don't really care about styles to often.

I wear whatever catches my eye in shops unless I've seen people wearing it a lot. If it looks good on me, comfortable and I like it I don't care if it's latest fashions or whatever. I do get a lot of influence off Tumblr and what I see others wearing but like I said if I see few people wearing it I wouldn't get it. Oh and it must be on sale, I never buy full price.

idk people who wear nice clothes influence me. i wear whatever looks nice on me, that's why sometimes i hate shopping online because i don't know what it's gonna look like on me :( i never wear skirts or dresses unless i go to a party, i normally wear jeans or shorts in summer.
