When the Layout changed I actually noticed that Habbo had a forum [Yes, I never saw it :/]
I decided to go around looking at half of the threads.
I did come across a thread that was rather 'mean'. Yes, I know that they eventually get removed but most of the time not fast enough that people get to read it.

This made me think about the Habbo community and how much it has actually changed from the younger years of Habbo.

Yes, I agree that every one has the freedom of speech but some people take it far and it affects the community that we are playing/chatting in.
What I want to know is, what do you think of the Habbo Community itself? (This ranges from the Habbo forums to the Habbo rooms)

Yeah :), Like how people treat each other etc. How it's changed from the younger years etc!

Oh I see, well I'm going to go all moody here and say that quite a lot of people on the game **** me off to the absolute limit and I really don't like hanging out in busy rooms - there'll always be someone there who's doing something annoying. Whether it be;

"Oh em gee, d8 me knfx - gives out msn- xxxx"
" -spam -spam -spam -spam -spam"
"CAPS LOCK ADDICT ALERT!"

or "**** you, ******* ****, go **** yourself you ****" - Random swearing, when people think they're "hard" online. All of those annoy me so much and they're just so common now - especially people asking for each others MSN or webcam in random rooms, with bloody strangers? Of course, I've only used Habbo for just over 3 yrs so I can't say how it was before that - but there's definitely a lot of younger members playing the game now and I completely dislike it. I've met someone who was 7 playing the game, and I simply ask myself "why?" - Habbo is fine for teens, and I suppose there's little harm in a 12 yr old signing up - but children playing the game is ridiculous.

Really big peeve for me in the community, is these people who think they are "e-famous". Sorry, but this is a virtual game... you are not famous on a virtual game, and even if you think you are - don't expect me to kiss your feet and give you special treatment? Behind the computer screen you're a normal person x.x

Now onto the lighter side. Although quite a lot **** me off, I've managed to meet a small number of people who are actually amazing friends and probably some of the kindest people I've met on the game - it genuinely shocks me when someone manages to make me smile on Habbo because it's just so rare for me aha, if someone on Habbo can make me laugh in real - they've done incredibly well.

The entire community isn't horrible - and to be honest, I actually like quite a lot of people on this forum (hence why I now spend more time on the forum than on Habbo) - they are usually decent members of the community and I'm quite glad I met them to be honest. But there are a large number of people on Habbo who literally just ruin the game x.x

I haven't played habbo since the Habbo BETA client came in. As soon as that came out I left due to the fact that the community has changed way too much. And now it's too confusing :(

i personally think the majority are FAR too into the game and need to step back a little.

Regardless of whether the Habbo Community is "mean" or not, the bottom line is that we can't change it. Whilst it would be amazing if everyone watched My Little Pony and listened to The Beatles like hippies from the 1960s, I somehow don't think it's going to happen. We are dealing with teenagers who are an extremely tempramental and hormonal age group; expecting them to act like good, mature adults is like taming a lion for the most part. It's difficult. There is a small proportion of people who actually are decent, and I daresay there's a few on Habbox. I'm rather cynical when it comes to making online "friendships" because proximity of the obvious dilemma, but I honestly believe that there are a few people here who I would regard as pretty good "friends", so arguably the Habbo Community isn't all lost.

I would also argue that the Habbo Community has been like this since the beginning. I first signed up in 2005 and the site has been flooded with individuals (outlined above) for the whole time. We can't generalise everyone and claim there's been a huge change in attitude, simply because it's too difficult to define "mean" and it's wrong to put a label on everyone.

We can't change the Habbo population, but we can change ourselves. That's the first step.

When I played it, the majority was great. I also loved how there seemed to be "famous" habbos who used to get gossiped about etc, at least a few people I know did gossip and talk about them. I know someone who was paticularly addicted to merf and lerf or some people like that, left quite a while ago now (please remind me of their names if you know who I'm talking about :P). No one really fought or argued back then I would say, apart from the stupid rooms like adoptions and crap.

But there's always a bits of turds in the toilet.

I just realised I went off on a tangent (I think), in terms of speech there used to be people who would flood like hell so in that respect it's much better.

I agree that we can't change people, that wasn't my point at all.
When I meant by "Mean" I meant as that it was harmful for certain people, not generally for everyone. It would of be a defined group as such that could of got harmed.

Think Habbo was a lot better before BETA and everything because people weren't so serious about it all and it was more laid back.

These days I find there's a competition to be the best at something or the richest. I have some friends that have lost so many friends because they just moan on and on about their furni which kind of seems stupid. I used to check forums like Equal 'Treatment For Norms' and it made me laugh how people took their time to troll the forum.

I don't really go around many rooms (as I'm usually in my own, my friends room or Habbox rooms) so I don't really see many horrible people, therefore I can't really say much about the nasty ones.

The only thing that really pisses me off is the Habbo Dating rooms, the amount of people that cam with strangers is pathetic and disgusting.

I can totally agree with this, I don't see why people bother with it all. It just loops over and over again!

guess i'd be in the addict category, i love reading the habbo forums though, so much fun trolling, wish hxf was a bit more laid back.

really the only people i dislike are the majority of casino people, obv some are nice, but you can't do nice things to get where you are (in casinos)

I know it's your own opinion; but I kinda find that hilarious. It's awkward and embarrassing for the person claiming they're sulake staff/related to someone who's sulake staff. :P

McDonalds; If I'm in an exceptionally happy mood, I'd laugh at their stupidity (shows how nice I am). If not, I'd just probably ignore them or rant at them about how they're not a staff member :P

Oh, and I noticed that some forums were mentioned aha. I happen to check out "Fellowship of Christian Habbos" quite a lot (even though I'm not really Christian anymore :L) and I do agree that it is filled to the brim with trolls and people who think it's funny to post;

"ahaaahahahah god hates gays". When it's really not funny, it's old and tedious. I don't bother posting much on there due to trollers thinking they're funny - I would name a few but I'd probably get told off somehow  - but yeah, tonnes of people ruin forums now. Either the post is useless, offensive or just a "troll" post.

Don't even get me started on this forum about Gay Pride that I happened to come across last night.

The habbo community has changed from a chilled out atmosphere to a rude, I want to be rich community. There are some nice people out there but sadly, it is quite rare! From shops to game rooms, people only seem to care about becoming rich which involves being rude and at most times, scamming (Sometimes even hacking). Sad really but that is the truth about the habbo community these days. As for the habbo forums, it is possibly the worst place to be because of so many hate threads. Mods need to check them more regularly.

I quite enjoy it and even the 'mean' Habbo's I personally just take everything as banter and don't take a lot of things said to me personally. I usually just go to the help desk anyway and chat to people but I sometimes go to 18+ rooms with Red which are really funny, the majority seem really ****** for example last night I was in one and started gettin' abuse shouted at me (but to be honest I give as good as I get) I then ended up giving them my Skype and we actually had quite a good chat and was just laughing and joking, so yeah I don't take peoples comments seriously because I know the majority of players are most probably lovely in real life.

I do think people get a bit too into the game but if that's what they enjoy doing then I honestly don't see a problem. I used to love the whole help desk scene back in like 05 because there was a good mix of people in there and the majority were really friendly however now there's only two help desks that I visit, HxHD and Toby's help desk the people in Toby's desk are really friendly and the majority of the staff are a similar age to me so I can have a really good conversation with them.

Regarding the forum community on Habbo, I really don't like it because everyone on there just seems irritating so I just ignore the forums on Habbo and don't even look now. Overall though I think the community is great with a great mix of people, I love meeting new people on there and having proper chats like I've known them for years :D

The habbo community in general is a mix. You either get really nice people that are down to earth and know what they're talking about, you get the people who are too young for habbo and they ban you from their rooms for move one foot and then you get the stuck up people that are super rich, own casinos and think they are better than everyone! (really rich people generally been playing since '05 and argue they're more experienced). ** in my opinion lmfao. But yeah, i think the people who have the balls to post in habbo forums, are mean. You wouldnt get the really nice people bothering with them forums. What would be the point when you get told to *Removed* off?

I think habbo has changed a lot over the past year. Most people are nice but then you get the trolls that just make you think you don't want to go on it any more. It annoys me how when people are not VIP, or have lost their VIP, people treat them different and they even have rooms saying 'vip only'. This is gonna stop people wanting to play as they will feel they shouldn't be there just because their not vip.
