Dunno if it's common at UK or wherever but uhm I heard of this gap year thing that you can take to find your true self or whatev. Well, seriously, I don't know where to start. I got my exam results today and is expected to make decisions immediately as in my career path and what I wanna study in the future. Tbh, I have no idea what I should study or whatev. So, I was wondering if any of you took a gap year/are taking a gap year/will be taking a gap year? Can someone help me please and give me some advice? Thanks.

... is it that hard to decide whether to take a gap year if you have no idea what you wanna do? Instead of paying thousands of coin to study something you don't wanna do, go on a holiday, or get a job for a year then go to uni next year.
Mind = blown.

I took a gap year before starting uni as I felt I wanted a break from education and I wasn't really sure what direction I wanted to go in, but I think it was probably one of the worst decisions I ever made. I basically ended up doing nothing for a year and yet more doubt clouded my mind. Don't take a year out just because you're unsure at the moment. You don't need a year to think about your future. It's just wasted time. In fact, the most time people should ever need to think is a week or so. I'm sure if you put your mind to it, you can come up with all kinds of pathways. Even if you end up taking the wrong one, you can always go back. Live and learn, just don't forget to live at all and ground yourself like I did.

this. i'm on a "gap year" right now and i've never been so depressed or bored or just lost. all i want to do is get back to uni and start again. if you have the money to go travelling then fair play, but i don't and my parents aren't gonna pay for it.
