She wasn't bad on Waterloo Road, besides Doctor Who is a show which makes actors, not which takes highly established actors. I mean, did anyone really know Matt Smith before he came on? David? Billie? etc. The only one who was is Catherine Tate but she was never meant to return, infact series 4 was basically a huge fluke.

Anyway not a bad replacement, just keep the hope she isn't another love sick person.

She wasn't bad on Waterloo Road, besides Doctor Who is a show which makes actors, not which takes highly established actors. I mean, did anyone really know Matt Smith before he came on? David? Billie? etc. The only one who was is Catherine Tate but she was never meant to return, infact series 4 was basically a huge fluke.

no i agree that doctor who builds actors (can also limit careers but that's another thing) but matt smith was straight from drama school which is something completley different as an actress who has just done 2 soaps. billie and david were well known pre-doctor who as actors. billie had done a lot of stage work and david tennant has a fantastic history of drama. it's easy to get into habits and i'm sure working at 2 soaps she probably has picked up some.

Matt Smith done a few things before doctor who. Also they may have been known, but they weren't as well known as they are now is what I was saying. Also, Waterloo Road isn't a soap.

Everyone has to start somewhere. Doctor Who is a brilliant show for starting of careers. Yes she hasn't been in much. But to be honest Karen Gillian? No one even heard of her before Doctor Who she'd been in The Kevin Bishop show that's really. She's already had a lot of work since Doctor Who so no it doesn't really limit careers. Actors are just some times typecasts though that cant really be prevented seeing as Doctor Who is such a famous, historical and great show. I mean just look at Sylvester McCoy.
