The next version of Photoshop CS6 has been talked about for months by Adobe and now you can really see what it looks like and some of the new features on the hands-on preview by theverge: http://www.theverge.com/2012/3/22/2890617/adobe-photoshop-cs6-beta-hands-on

I do like the black interface and some of the new features look interesting and pretty cool. There is also a free beta preview that you can download by going to: http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/photoshopcs6/

Do they have an interface colour switcher or is black the only one?

I actually got a memo from the conglomerate the magazine I do work for is owned under. Since we all do work with Adobe Suite, people were curious about CS6 and the official word from the big guys is that we won't be upgrading to it until it is officially released and on sale for three months. A bit slow in my opinion but I don't call the shots. Anyways, the preview looks impressive!

Thank you for posting, @[@]xxMATTGxx[/@]!

www.iceflowstudios.com has released 12 videos on some of the features.

Thread merged by Chris (Forum Super Moderator): From "Graphics Discussion, Help and Requests", as there is already a thread discussing this, and it is better suited here!

I love how the dimensions appear next to the cursor, and auto recover, brilliant!

What do professional graphic designers think of this?

I know some people get annoyed with the new versions as some claim they make it even easier for people to do tasks that once where more trickier if you get me.

My mate tried it and is annoyed that preset migration isn't working yet so hasn't fully tried it.

Unless of course you know something he doesn't, he uses the option to migrate them it says complete but he can't find them.

I tried it and it's alright, but as I'm not a Photoshop enthusiast I'm clueless as to what's good.

Not sure who you're aiming the professional graphic designers comment at, I don't think anyone on here is professional? haha.
I really like it, the only things it's made easier are content aware - which was a nightmare in the last one so I love it.

My preset migration worked fine? Imported all my gradients, patterns and brushes?

Can you tell me what steps you did please?

Edit > Presets > Export/Import Presets.

Clicked the Import Presets tab, clicked on Select Import Folder, browsed to my Photoshop CS5 folder, selected all brushes/gradients/patterns and clicked Import Presets. and everything was there?

Alternatively, tell him to go back on CS5/4/3 whatever.
Edit > Presets > Presets Manager
Then on the brush category, click the first brush, hold shift, go to the last brush and click it. Save the brushes. Do the same for gradients/patterns/etc and save them all. Then just simply Load them in CS6.

Love that perspective cropping has it's own tool now, also that it now shows you the dimensions of selections.
It now supports video editing which is awesome, need to look more into it :P.

great stuff.

Content aware is interesting, but I prefer pictures as they are taken - they are far more impressive and natural. I can't stand people who edit their photos to that degree - unless of course it's a for a graphic that isn't necessarily a major focus point and the artist behind it doesn't toot their horn at how creative and lucky they were to get a particular shot :P

Wasn't really aiming it any anyone in particular. Just was wondering what professionals thought
