How do you get motivated to tidy up?

Eurg as I said in a thread yday my mum's gone away and the house looks like a bombs hit it but thing is, I've been sat here aimlessly doing nothing 'cause I really can't get myself motivated to clean up.

Are you good with tidying up or are you kinda like me and just shove stuff under your bed out of sight?

When my dad is around he will make me do every bit of the house!

If I don't, the punishment is either 'You're going to be grounded of your laptop for a week+'

Mmm my kitchen has got to the point where I physically can not even make any food in their because it's such a mess, I've just about cleaned up everywhere else but I'm avoiding that kitchen so bad!

I don't.
I honestly don't believe my room is ever messy enough to actually need to be tidied. I've got quite a large room and I'm not the type of person that throws things down on my floor when I've lost interest in them. I will always put them in a place that means they don't look messy. Whenever I'm changing my room layout, I'll go through everything in my room and get rid of useless junk, but that useless junk never seems to clutter or make a mess of my room. :P

I normally just clean the house every Friday to save my mum doing it!

I'm quite obsessed with having things look tidy, especially in the office at work and I go round tidying up after everyone and straightening things etc. At home not so much, but if I see something that looks too messy I'll tidy it etc. Music does help! :)

The only tidying I like is testing pens to see if they still work and polishing. Sometimes hoovering because it means I get to cover the floor in shake 'n' vac.

I don't like tidying my dad or mum usually shouts at me and my sister to tidy. However, when my sister gets blamed I do too (from my dad) but my mum says it's not Samantha don't take it out on her. Like I usually wash up everytime I eat whereas my sister doesn't but suddently I'm bone idle/bone Rodney etc.

Ha I love cleaning and tidying (yeah, freak, I know)

Though if I don't feel like it, I always get motivated by the nice, clean and shiny end result.

Just think of it as one thing at a time. You tidy one thing, even if it's putting one single object away, it's one thing less to do. Just do it in small amounts. Or, clean up as you go along. Or don't make a mess in the first place :P
