Bought a job lot of mice off eBay locally, because collection was stated as being available in the postage options. Messaged the seller to organise this and then was told that collection was not available.

I am not paying £7 for delivery for something that is down the road and I could collect. Had collection not been available I would not have bidded.
(item was a batch of 19 mice, won it for the start price of £5). What should I do? I would like the item but I don't really want to pay postage. As the postage options stated collection, do I have a leg to stand on or am I resigned to paying the postage?

Not sure where to turn here, anyone got any suggestions?

I wouldn't want people coming to my house to collect things they bought online. If they wanted to sell something locally they would have had a yard-sale, pay the 7 pounds and leave it be.

You can escalate it to ebay support, If local pick up or collection was there, They have to honor this.

Like LouisCollins said, If local collection was there you should have the right to collect it you-self,

Double check that the product page to check that collection is there and just message them if they still decline then ebay support + negative feedback.

As it says when you click through a bid, it is a legal contract. There's no way they can justify that, especially not when they're also asking for extra money

if you have proof contact ebay customer services and explain the situation? am sure they'll sort it.

Ebay will sort it. I bought some good but not that cheap speakers for my studio and the smaller speakers (apparently for lower frequency sounds of something) that are on it, one of them didn't work. I escalated it - the guy wanted to give me some money back but didn't want to refund me all and I knew the parts where hard to get and didn't want to have to buy new speakers on top of what I'd spend so ebay sorted it sent me a printing label to so the postage was pre-paid.

If it's false advertising they will sort it.
