Hey,
@ Yet keeps breaking and it annoys me. This problem never happened when I had the account name Richie. I'm assuming it's because it's a 3 letter name so can you either please fix it or let me have my other account name back. I miss getting my @'s cos im so popular :(.
Thread moved by Chris (Forum Super Moderator): From "Habbox Feedback", as it is better suited here!
How do you mean by breaking? What is wrong...

it's not the name it's the new plugin.
Same here... It worked fine before. So please fix it or change our names (I am not changing my habbo name).

Give me a couple of days, I've asked the creators of the plugin to see if there is any solutions or If It will be fixed in a future update.

This explains it all:
I've decided to create a small guide that explains on how you can use the user tagging system which is also known as mentioning another user. There is two main ways of doing this and below shows you both ways and how they work.
Adding the @ sign yourself:
http://mattgarner.net/upload/images/l02mt.png
The following must be done: username; - The semi-colon at the end needs to be there to make sure it works for all users. If it isn't there then the mention will not work.
Using the BBCode Button in Quick Reply & Advanced Editor:
http://mattgarner.net/upload/images/R3Okh.png
The button on the quick reply editor and the full advanced editor has the same http://mattgarner.net/upload/images/xqNw.png image for what can be used to mention another user in your post. To use this button then do the following:
Click the button: http://mattgarner.net/upload/images/xqNw.png (This has also been highlighted in the screenshot above in the spoiler.)
This will then automatically put these tags in the post:
Enter the username such as xxMATTGxx in the middle of the tags so it looks like this:
http://mattgarner.net/upload/images/zj4nT.png
Finish your post. A semi colon is not needed if you are using the button method, the first method the semi-colon is needed.
Note: The buttons will not appear if you are using the "Basic Editor" - You can change the editor by going to User CP > General Settings.
Hope this helps and prevents any confusion.

It originally worked fine without ; and worked with 3 letter names...
It should detect that any symbol other than letters as the end of the tag, otherwise need to use ; for names with punctuation etc

It only started working again with 3 letter names but it idn't work for users such as "Maggots" until the semi-colon had to be required. So for it to work for all users, the semi-colon was enabled.

It previously worked with every name with the exception of those with punctuation/numbers
So @red @kyle @hoteluser @xxMATTGxx @scottish @richie worked fine
but @Alex3213 @Someonewitha. @Someonewitha- @Someone withaspace
Would require a ; to show the end of the tag.

Anyone with 3 characters in their usernames didn't actually get the mention. Hence why this thread was created in the first place. It linked up their profile but they wouldn't get a notification or show up on their profile until the hotfix was applied yesterday - But usernames such @Maggots linked up to users such as @Magg - For it to work for everyone I enabled the feature so it requires that the mentions need a semi-colon to work.
All you have to do is simply add a ; at the end of their usernames.

No no no, the three letter names was the DBTech one. The semi-colon isn't to do with the 3 characters, it's to do with certain users such as Maggots would notify Maggs and not Maggots.

Oh so what was wrong with hotelusers one then
Fairly sure it was just straightforward and didn't even check the memberlist (so if you tagged @somethingstupidlikethis it would link to no profile page)
Also, wouldn't you be able to disable the forced semi colon and users able to use ; as normal
(i.e. before you could say @red for normal, or @red.mad.kyle; if it contained punctuation) assuming you've turned on an option to force ;
couldn't you disable it, and if i wanted to do Maggots I would add ; at the end
So @Red would work, @red.mad.kyle; would work, Maggots would tag magg or whatever, and Maggots; would tag Maggots.

wait Maggots still tags even though i'm not using ; ? lol

The plugin we are using at the moment only links to peoples profiles if they are an actual member on the forum. In terms of disabling the semi-colon and only putting the ; after maggots username for example - It wouldn't fix the issue and would still just link to maggs.
And the reason why it tags Maggot is because it's using:
Username here and not the @.

Well that didn't link. If I do @Maggots now it won't link at all or notify her.

Why did it work in the above post then? lol
Isn't the addon set to either end the tag when any character that isn't alphanumeric, or using the ; character
or am I thinking of hotelusers one?

I'm not sure why but it shouldn't work as it required the ; at the end of the usernames now. I believe you are also thinking of the one David created.
This setting lets you require a semicolon to signal the end of a username in a Mention.
Yes: username;
