Hi Jordesh! Thank you for participating in the the last Community Challenge! Your jumping efforts helped the community reach the jumping target, so Habbo will donate $10 000 to World Horse Welfare. As a thank you, we've awarded you a special Pegasus Rider badge! You'll find it in your Inventory. Enjoy! - Habbo Hotel

Also I received a badge from them too. I'm actually please with the amount they gave them.

Aw, that's actually really nice! I wish it could've been a different charity, but I'm sure that charity is good and close to someone's heart.

Without sounding harsh, is there any proof they donated?

Because I could tell you I gave £1,000,000 to KFC and that would be the same.

Not at the moment, I looked on the charities website and couldn't see any mention of it. I guess it depends if they have donated the money yet.

will believe it when i see it, 10k is a rather large donation and i'm sure the horse charity would make mention of it somewhere.

A lot of dubious people on here. Why would Sulake go out of their way to fake a donation?

Aw that's nice of them.
About proof: can't you get in trouble saying you're donating to charity and then don't?

Shame they chose to donate to a Horse charity... I can think of several other charities which need the money more and do great things.

Out of curiosity, did anyone ever find proof they donated?

Jordy

How would they prove they donated to the charity? If they posted a picture of a cheque, how would you know it wasn't photoshopped or even a genuine cheque for instance?

It's very naive to think a multi-billion dollar company such as Sulake would risk their entire reputation on falsely claiming to of donated to charity ($10k is very little to them I think it's safe to assume). I'm sure a charity like World Horse Welfare would be well aware if large websites were claiming to of gave them donations and I've no doubt this would be swiftly followed by letters to lawyers.

Who's to say Bill Gates is giving his money away? You haven't seen him spending his money in Africa? He would be found out and his reputation would be ruined if that was the case and it's no different here.

Yeah help the horses... some starving children can wait for now

I'm not going against you or anything but I think the person/company who donated the money must of picked the charity for a reason, they may not of wanted to give it to starving children, its their money.

There is a lot of charities and they aren't all for starving children and you can't always donate to every single one of them. If you really want to help them, then donate some of your own money to the charity you think that needs help! :P

It was curiosity, I wasn't accusing Habbo/Sulake of not donating. Usually there is a news article written by the receiving charity.

For what it's worth, Habbo/Sulake were premature releasing the minimail detailing their donation, considering World Horse Welfare don't know about it yet.

It's a nice thing they are doing. I would have thought that they would do it more often with the amount of money they make though.

That's great news! The exchange rate brings the sum down a bit but it's still a large amount to give.

It's nice that Habbo donated money to charity but for all the profit they probably made it could have been a lot more. Still, good on them for following through with it.
